I think the fact we have just started up with the indigenous pathways, it would not be a good look, he will probably add value to that in the long term?
Tigers need to be more one eyed about why they exist. Programs schmograms.
These sort of things are important to the community and the club should 100% be doing this stuff. It can also assist in recruiting players.
Hasn’t so far mate
This program hasn't been running that long and to be honest I couldn't care less if it didn't lead to any players. Football clubs can be inspirational in the community and they should harness that to improve their community.
It’s a nice vibe but until the club can win games they ain’t gonna inspire much.
Its just not true though, I have been involved in Panthers on the Prowl for example and it is a crucial initiative that does a lot for the Penrith community. Still was an incredibly successful initiative even when they aren't winning Premierships.
In my opinion parts of the organisation are so broken that we’re not ready to diversify. I bet Gus started by fixing the footy department not the community piece.
That is actually not true either, when Gus was appointed to be the General Manager of football at Penrith he made the decision that other aspects of the club needed fixing and took on a much larger role than was 1st expected. He was involved in the Leagues Club issues and community programs as well.
I think we are doing really smart things in our appointments in Pathways and Sheens every expanding role. There is nothing wrong with having community programs running well as well.
I’d argue Sheens or similar should have been appointed long before the community programs, but we aren’t gonna agree so best to agree on that that ?
