Terrible commentator. Wouldn't shut up. But he was a great 5/8 so I can only see upside in this. Good move.

I see it as a proactive move and it sends a good message that the club is not wallowing over recent less than positive events. Daley might not be well regarded with the punters but within the game itself it appears to be quite the opposite.

Is this the beginning of another boys club? Which myth can we sign next? Marshall and Reynolds are more relevant mentors than some hack that has been a chronic failure as both coach and commentator for virtually Brooks' entire life.

I don't mind Laurie, met him a couple of times and worked with his daughter recently in Canberra for 6 months. To understand Laurie a bit more, the bloke left school at 15 and has never received a proper education, so while he has a great football brain, he's not the most articulate person when explaining things, but I feel as one of the great running 5/8s, he'll only help Brooks and the Tigers.

Ahh the power of information. Explains a lot about Daley I think. He will be good I think - my only concern is too many voices inside Brooks’ head could confuse him
