It will be a bloodbath -

There is going to be a lot of wrist slashing on here if "The Legend" (use the term loosely) doesn't return. Lol

The only wrist slitting I’m seeing is from the sensitive souls who don’t want him back.

We're not wrist slitting - we are praying we don't have to have him back in any capacity.

Back on the Leichhardt scoreboard: Farah eyes perfect Tigers homecoming
By Adrian Proszenko
SMH 16 June 2018 — 4:13pm

Leichhardt Oval will be the location for Robbie Farah’s first game back if he returns to Wests Tigers in what would be an emotional homecoming for the former skipper.

The Tigers were so desperate to get rid of Farah just 18 months ago that they paid $750,000 just to get him off the books. However, coach Ivan Cleary is genuine about bringing Farah back, with a final call likely to be made at a Tigers board meeting on Monday night.

Farah and Cleary first spoke about the prospect of a Tigers return six months ago, the talks intensifying in recent weeks as the June 30 transfer deadline approached. While Cleary has never coached the Rabbitohs hooker, the pair have a relationship from their brief time together as coach and player for the Lebanon national side.

The Tigers view Jacob Liddle as the club’s long-term dummy half. However, a series of injuries – Liddle has already undergone two shoulder reconstructions – have prevented the 21-year-old from cementing a first-grade position. With one spot still remaining in his top-30 roster and with his team struggling without a top-class hooker, Cleary is keen to add Farah to a new-look spine that would also include Bulldogs mid-season signing Moses Mbye.

If Farah was to return to Concord, it would only be for the remainder of the season. Given there is no NRL played next weekend due to the representative round, his first assignment would be against the Titans at his beloved Leichhardt Oval. With the game scheduled on a Sunday, a sellout crowd would be guaranteed for what would be one of the biggest events in the oval's recent history.

Farah was reduced to spectator status when farewelling Leichhardt in 2016\. After watching the Tigers suffer a demoralising loss to Canberra that robbed them of a finals place, the former NSW rake downed a beer while sitting on the Leichhardt Oval scoreboard. Now he could be back in action for the Tigers, who also have a round 23 clash at the picturesque ground against the Dragons.

There is some resistance to Farah’s return to the Tigers, due to his acrimonious departure. While it is likely his transfer would receive the boardroom support required, Cleary did not want to discuss the matter until it was resolved.

“We’re not going to discuss publicly any form of speculation around transfers and the June 30 deadline,” Cleary said.

“I’ve got a spot to fill and we’re always looking to improve our roster. There have been numerous discussions in-house about possibilities. The reality of our game is this period, the intensity around speculation and possibility of transfers [is intense].

“In fairness to all concerned, it’s very sensitive and we’re not going to discuss anything unless we have something to confirm.”

The successful return of Benji Marshall to club is proof that, under the right circumstances, it is possible to welcome a favourite son back into the fold. Farah’s departure was much messier after he fell out with former coach Jason Taylor, but with Taylor gone there is the opportunity for Marshall and Farah to finish their careers together on a high.

Asked if Farah’s return could provide a similar boost to that of prodigal son Marshall, Cleary said: “Benji has definitely been a positive addition to our club. We have made some changes to the Wests Tigers and we’re very conscious of respecting the past and it’s been great to have Benji as a past player. Not just as a past player, but a hugely popular and influential player on and off the field.

“To have him come back has proven to be a really good boost. Benji has really enjoyed it and as a club as well we want to bring past players back into the fold as much as we can. That’s obviously off the field as well.

“That’s what we’re trying to do as a club. That’s what we will continue to do.”

Done deal by the look of it.
A win today followed by the bye and two new additions hopefully gives us a good base to relaunch our season
Hopefully our heads are in todays game.

Can't understand the animosity towards Farah….most of which is based on hearsay.
Here are some facts
1\. He is the most passionate player we have ever had.
2\. He is one of the best to ever play for us (only behind Benji).
3\. Even now he is better than anyone we've got in his position.
4\. We have a better chance of winning games with him in the team.

It's a yes from me.

Congratulations for the most ironic post of the year.

The below team excites me for the rest of 2018 with the additional of Mybe and Farah. Two problem areas that they can strengthen.

Noff and Naiqama can fight for one wing spot depending on form.

Rochow missing out with Taylor to second row as I like Huth at lock to bring size to the pack.

Happy to have JJ Felise and Luke Garner being given a chance.

Not fussed where Marshall fits in. IC will work this out.
\
\
1\. Moses Mbye
2\. Corey Thompson
3\. Esan Marsters
4\. Mahe Fonua
5\. Kevin Naiqama

6\. Josh Reynolds/ Tyson Gamble (depending on his debut and the other one's Hamstrings)
7\. Luke Brooks

8\. Russell Packer
9\. Robbie Farah (never captain)
10\. Ben Matulino
11\. Chris Lawrence (Captain)
12\. E Taylor
13\. Matt Eisenhuth

Interchange:

14\. Alex Twal
15\. MCK
16\. Josh Aloiai
17\. Tim Grant/ Jessie Sue

Still require a hard running second rower which we do not have at the club.

If Gamble plays well this game i would have he starting on the bench.

Theres actually not one true FACT in there sorry mate.
A fact is something unviresally agreed upon by either science or a proven record to be true.
There has been alot of passionate players in gone through our club over the years
Darren senter
Mark O'neil
Skando
Ben Galea
Just because he made headlines more often than some other players doesn't mean he had more passion.
Darren Senter would come of the field almost in tears when we would get beat in front of a Liechart crowd, When Farah stopped backing up at club level when he was playing origin you can say his passion for his club took a back seat in my opinion.
He was a good player and a rep player for several years so yeah one of best players in his prime.
I dont think he is better than Liddle.
And only time tell if we have more chance of winning games with him here…...Guessing at outcomes are not facts sorry.

Your sarcasm detector isn't malfunctioning but your sense of reason is.
You don't think he is the most passionate player we've fielded, is one our best ever players and is a better hooker than anyone we've currently got?
Pretty sure the 'prediction' of having a better chance of winning will prove true also …if he signs.

I didn't say I disagreed with you, I just found it funny that you criticised people for repeating things they've heard, then proposed to talk facts, before running out a list of opinions.

It's all the same - opinions, hearsay, guesses, assumptions, ideas, feelings.

By all accounts this is a done deal, so just accept it and get behind the Tigers. Before anyone starts, no I'm not a Robbie fan, personally I feel that it is a slap in the face to both the culture we have now and young Liddle.
We are all adults or close enough to it to know that we don't always get what we want and that sometimes compromises need to be made. If Saint Ivan thinks having Robbie back is best for us, its best for us, end of story. Welcome back Rob. Go the Tigers.

They seem like facts to me and im sure could be backed with statistics.

Cleary can control Farah easily. If Robbie doesn't play to his tune in first grade there's a ready made spot for him playing half in ISP.

and he will become a sook again when he gets relegated to ISP and then we will be on the back pages of the sports column for all the wrong reasons… do you want that again?

the star of the team is the TEAM... not Robbie Farah... good player but selfish! it's all about me me me me!

like I said before I won't be happy if they get him but I support the team... good luck coach!

Not really hearsay… Just need to see the content of the articles as the drama went on and make a few logical connections.

Even that recent article is concerning. Not wanting to play for the Jason Taylor cup? Seriously. That says volumes to me.
