Wests Tigers sign Tom Humble from Parramatta

The only thing that concerns me about this signing is that it is only for one year. I don't like 12 month contracts as the player never feels permanent. I hope there is an option there in our favour as I expect to see him in grade.

Is he better than Mullaney ?

Different style players, not much between them IMO…..both have fans calling for their inclusion at their current clubs, but not quite getting there.

A direct swap is prob good for both, change of scene, new burst of motivation, hope both kick on

As a player that I have never seen or really heard of, can someone please answer this question? As a percentage of posts, why does Tom Humble receive more positive posts, less negative posts than a champion like Adam Blair?

On his Qld Cup form from a few years ago Definitely
Can play multiple positions better defensively
But whether he can reproduce that Qld Cup is the question ??
He needs to answer that question with performances on the field

Mainly because of the difference in value. Humble is being signed as a backup and some future potential as a regular first grader, he isn't on a big contract.

Blair on the other hand has taken a huge chunk of our cap, and it seems like in order to get him we had to lose some loyal players and potential future stars.

Thats no comment on Blairs ability or his worth to the side, its just that he caused a fair amount of angst for the Tigers fans.

What were his parents thinking when they named him Tom? I betcha the other school kids called him Tom Thumb. Should have picked a stronger name like Michael or James or David.

What exactly makes a "strong" name? A really strong name is something like Executioner or Concrete or Widowmaker or Smitingdeathfromabove.

humble has shown he can mix it in the top grade in his limited time. i like the signing.

Good to see another Queenslander in the West Tigers line up for 2012.Tom played well in the Qld Cup for the Northern Pride in 2010.Didn't seem to get a lot of playing time at Parra though, this year.

I'm sure he didn't mean to offend you Tom

Now I can get a banner made up…

Reddy to Humble

Now we just need to sign Bronx Goodwin and you could have - Humble and the Bronx

Parra fans are upset to see him go, always a good sign

He's probably the best player in the nsw cup, a gun. Mullaney hasn't kicked on, Humble is streets ahead

Is Matt Bell any good? I'd never really heard of him before he got signed, but from what i can gather from wikipedia he's a 30-year old second-rower who's spent his entire career on the bench and has scored one try. Do we really need ANOTHER second rower? we already have ellis, fulton, blair, groat, woods and BMM, now Bell? Does Sheens have some kind of fetish for second-rowers?

I'd put Grant on the bench instead of bell. Or Mitch Brown if he stays. But not Bell

I've seen a few Matt Bell games and from what I've seen he plays in the front row from the bench. He isn't a Petro Cininoceva or Matt Scott but he puts in 100%, fairly tight in defense and carries the ball up hard.
