Wests Tigers sign Tom Humble from Parramatta

Bell is a front rower renowned for his strong work ethic on and off the field.

I would say he has been signed as much for culture as anything else. He will prob play a support role to the young forwards, as a full season is prob beyond them.

I agree.. he has good defence as well.

Humble would be my second choice fullback. IDK who the first choice is… maybe Brown, Ryan, Reddy, anyone. But the 2nd choice should be Humble.
Also, IMO he isn't good enough to be first choice in a team where attack is so important, hopefully I am wrong.

I've seen Matty Bell play a fair bit, and I think he will prove to be a good buy, and will be a good leader while our younger props are gaining experience. I was really happy when this signing was announced.

He's definitely a prop.

And Brown would be your first choice ahead of him if attack is so important???
Did you just get tackled by galloway or are you usually this disillusioned

I agree Suzie, and I think work ethic is exactly what Sheensy is trying to change in our club with our departures and signings.

Fifita & Gibbs out for Bell & Blair. It's a brilliant swap to improve the professional culture. from all reports, Bell is a real workhorse and will be great role model for Groat, Woods, BMM and Bregovich.

It might have been why Liam was being passed around too. I really think he was trying to lessen the joking around to make us a more professional outfit.

I agree Hammertime, it seems that we are signing a number of players that are known for their professionalism.

In addition to the 2 you have mentioned Reddy certainly fits that bill.

As you say it will provide terrific role models to show what it takes to make it in the NRL.

Just cos fults is a joker doesn't mean he isn't professional, u can have a professional team who has fun with eachother, if they were trying to pass him around it wasn't because of a lack of professionalism

I read with interest several members on here who must be related to Tom Humble!! I am happy to be proven wrong but, in my humble (no pun intended) opinion Tom is well short of NRL level. I live close to ringrose park and saw ALL home games this year and therefore saw ALOT of Humble this year and his season could be well and truly be summed up as ho-hum. Point in fact : Morris gets dropped by the dogs and scores 4 tries in his first game: humble well not so much! But as a Tiger true believer happy to be proven wrong.

Difference is J Morris is an experienced first grader and has played for Australia/NSW. Humble is in a very different place in his development.

2010 Humble was fantastic, he was also good in NYC. Must confess to only catching him once or twice this year, one game, he was the best on the field by a mile. The other he did not stand out either way,

I think humble has great potential, remember ppl, tim sheens will be developing him, in my opinion no greater coach of skills and knowledge, sheens will make him a better player over the off season let alone the whole of 2012, deserves a shot somewhere.
