More than happy with that effort. McIlwrick was just about our best I thought. Should prove sufficient back up when required. Suli is so hard to handle when carrying the ball. The fact he started on the wing is a good indication he'll get the nod round one ahead of Rankin who filled in playing in the halves and only moved to the wing when Suli went off. No doubt if Rankin is named there will be meltdown's delux, but it's important to remember if he is, it doesn't mean he's valued more than Suli, it will be simply because they still want to give the kid time. From where I was sitting though he looks like he'd handle it. He's a real handful.
Tedesco looks set to go to another level imo. Played like an animal, and even off the ball, behind the defensive line, he was rabid, shouting orders and blowing up every time we conceded a penalty.
We defended okay, but tbf, the Cows were so sloppy, we were barely challenged. Ben Hampton scored the softest of tries on half time strolling through Ava, and I think Sue. Aloiai scored a strong try. Between tonight and the 9's, I think he's in for a big year.
We lost our way the last 15 minutes, and Heleta literally threw the game away, but meh, we had virtually a reserve grade side out there for the last quarter. This team is ready for Souths.

ET looked to be playing before the line a lot the way he did when he first arrived last year. I think he's going to be one of our most valuable players this year. Re-signing him was absolute key.
