Wow, come in this morning to find an 18 page thread. I'm sure someone else has already said this but:

**UNITE COMMIT ACHIEVE**

Taylor is UNITING the team with this decision …..Taylor is COMMITED in getting rid of Farah ....Talylor will ACHIVE what he has set out do do with this team .

UNITE COMMIT ACHIEVE well done Jason Taylor .

:roll

I do believe that on sat Robbie will have an outstanding game.
He will be the best player on the field by far.
Then there is no reason for him to be out of the first grade team.

The bigger this gets the, less another club will take of Farah's contract come 2017\. Let's face it any potential buyers know our mob are desperate to offload him,so they can afford to play hardball.

If Farah has something to offer another club $450 k is a steal .. The problem is Farahs reputation precedes him and to be honest he does not want to leave anyway , he has a contract his choice . Farah and his mate Ayoub are again going to drag the club through the mud once again. The coach wants the team to play in a way Farah cann't or will not adhere to he has been told this for over 12 months the coach has no other option IMO …with a person like Farah when is it the right time can someone entilighten us all!

Well said Snake !!! Has been said so many times before and so true - if Robbie didn't put himself first and the club a distant second he would have left last year and the club would not be going through this now.

The last 5 games
Lost - Farrah not playing
Won - Farrah playing
Lost - Farrah not playing
Won - Farrah playing
Lost - Farrah not playing
This is the stupidest selection decision I have ever seen. Why is Farrah dropped for the good of the team, whilst Naqaima and Nofoaluma leak points all year and nothing changes? Taylor was brought in as a defensive coach, as pointed out before, we have the 2nd worst defence in the league. Financially, this has the potential to hit the club, loss of sponsors and loss of fans. I am so angry at this decision, nothing to do with the best team but revenge from a vindictive coach.

This is a long term decision imo…. A decision for 2017 and beyond

Yeah … You said the same four years ago when they flicked Sheens and Marshall. That was meant to lead to a brighter future ... Still not exactly a force.

Teams have to be named on the Tuesday. Now Farah (and Woods and Tedesco), were not scheduled to return to training till Wednesday. Whether that has anything to do with the weird timeline, who knows.

Anyway….here's another theory that's out there on social media:

_JT taking the heat and saving the younger players from saying they don't want to play with Farah._

Plausible, they have just had about 6 weeks with him not really around that much, so perhaps the younger brigade can see a team without Farah. Whilst Liddle did play, they gave the Dogs an almighty scare and Farah didn't play.

A long term decision when we are so close to making the finals this year. That makes no sense whatsoever.

It's also pretty easy to manage Robbie now no matter what happens. Let him play out this season and next. Then you don't renew his contract. I reckon this is a no brainer especially when he is still one of the best hookers in the game.

On the face of it I can buy Taylors point of view that to many cooks spoil the broth and at some stage the kids have to take control. The old story to many generals and not enough soldiers. What I do not believe is you would send the blues no9 back to reserve grade and replace him with two backorders to play dummy half. I also think it is very odd that Taylor has earmarked Liddle to take over from Farah from possibly next year as he is basically a Farah clone.Sort of shoots his argument straight down.

The club would not risk the fallout from all the turmoil just to hand over the reigns to the kids with a handful of games to go. This could have all been done in the coming preseason, but it is obvious to all and sundry this is about a lot more than what goes on out on the paddock. Most of us are guessing it is more to do with one big fat contract, but maybe there is more.

Anyway this latest turmoil will not blow away till both parties get on their horses and ride off into the sunset

Wests Tigers CEO backs Jason Taylor’s decision to dump Robbie Farah to reserve grade
July 20, 20168:27pm

WESTS Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe has backed Jason Taylor’s decision to dump Robbie Farah to reserve grade — but insists Farah’s time at the club is not over.

In a bombshell that has reignited the ugly feud that has now dragged on for more than 12 months since Taylor first threatened Farah with the axe, the Tigers’ 247 game veteran was sensationally punted from the squad to take on St George Illawarra in Sunday’s crucial game against St George Illawarra.

After being initially named on the Tigers’ bench for the match that also marks Benji Marshall’s 250th NRL game against his former club, Farah will be expected to instead run out in NSW Cup on Saturday when the Tigers take on Newtown.

The news comes just a week after Farah played in the Blues’ Origin III victory over Queensland.

Farah did not return calls on Wednesday night but sources told The Daily Telegraph he was gutted, after basically being told by Taylor after training that the team “functions better without you”.

Pascoe admitted Taylor had informed both him and Tigers’ general manager of football Mark O’Neill of the decision on Wednesday morning before telling Farah.

“We had a discussion about the decision and why he thought it was in the best interests of the team for this weekend’s game,” Pascoe said.

Asked if Taylor told Farah that the team “functions better without you”, Pascoe admitted Taylor’s view was that the Tigers play best with young guns Luke Brooks, Mitchell Moses and James Tedesco are running the show.

“He believes, not dissimilar to what you are saying, that it is in the best interests of the club moving forward this week, that it is challenging to have more than three playmakers in one side under a game plan that has worked over the last five or six weeks,” Pascoe explained.

Pascoe added: “The ball needs to be, under the current coach’s game plan, it needs to be in their hands as quick as possible.”

While Farah’s supporters claim the timing of the announcement was the ultimate kick in the guts given Marshall’s milestone, Pascoe explained any NRL coach deserved to have ultimate power when selecting a team.

“The reality is it is the coach’s decision,” Pascoe said. “He is employed to make the decision that he believes is in the best interests of wining the game on the weekend.

“And he is judged on wins and losses from that. That is just the reality of it.”

Asked if Farah could still fight his way back into the NRL team, Pascoe said: “He is going to be given every opportunity.

“I know he is bitterly disappointed from today’s decision but he has committed and fought hard for 247 games.

“There is no reason why is not going to go and do that on Saturday and show what he can do and fight his way back into the NRL line-up.”

Pascoe added that while Brooks, Moses and Tedesco were the club’s future, “that is not saying that Robbie doesn’t have a future.

“It is just saying that Robbie’s game needs to evolve and I’m sure it will. This is not a blight on Robbie’s ability to play the game.

“He has been a fantastic player for 247 games for this club and with State of Origin representation every year.

“He can play the game. It is just as the game plan as it sits now is more focused on three playmakers.

“It is hard to have four in there. Different opposition may require a different game plan.”

What a load of BS,what's that saying about lies ''if you really believe it then it's not a lie'',so you replace a SOO hooker with two fill in rakes ,and if you believe the above dribble then we fans can expect the ball
service to be exemplary this weekend virtually above SOO standard.Pascoe if you want the fans to believe
that tripe at least replace Farah with a recognised hooker.

Pascoe said its not the end for Robbie …. So let's see if he gets picked the week after .... I don't think the result against St.George makes any difference. He's just as likely to be picked or not picked either way.

But what would you achieve by dropping him for one week??? You send the media into a frenzy, you get certain sections of your playing group offside, you probably get certain sponsors offside and you get plenty of punters offside, just to try and regig the way your team plays. Massive gamble, but as I have said a million times, its about more than football

I have been thinking about this overnight

Whilst I conclude that our future is Broses and Teddy. I think it is disrespectful and poor PR.

Take away the salary element which isn't our business anyway, the guy is still deserved of his spot in the top 14.

That was mentioned about 2 months ago on 1 of the football talk shows - That Brooks in particular doesn't like playing with Farah. I just passed it off as a yea maybe - but over time its obvious that Brooks does go in to his shell when Farah is on the field.

Exactly !
Logic plays no part in this decision. Even if you put him on the bench, you don't have to give him much game time …. Then you don't set off all this division in the club.

I agree with what you have said here.
This seems such a stupid action to take.
Farah was named to be in the team on Tuesday, but he was told on Wednesday he was not required (apparently) Who knows what is really going on behind the scenes, certainly not us not even Tiger Torch it seems :crazy
To me scrapping Farah at this important time of the season is just ridiculous :imp:
