Wests Tigers star Robbie Farah dropped from NRL to reserve grade

There is only one side to this story. Robbie Farah is in the wrong and Taylor is doing the right thing as the coach! You go, Jason, stick to your guns.

i'm getting the feeling this must be sanctioned from above Taylor…i think he will end up the fall guy...Farah will leave ...new coach fresh start...

All the people recently saying what a great job Pascoe is doing hasn't put a foot wrong...well here comes the test...

Of course it was G Man

Pascoe would be firing from the hip if it was not sanctioned from above

But any chance to take a pot shot at Taylor

People need to simplify this , what is more important , keeping Elijah Taylor or keeping Robbie Farah ??

Very easy answer

And if TT is correct, possibly Cherrington as well

There are some on here who appear to be more concerned how we are perceived by the media and other clubs fans rather than what might be in the best interests of the club long term.

But how is getting rid of Farah gonna help us keep Elijah? We will be paying Farah $900k regardless of whether he is at our club or not so it's not as if we will have extra money to spend if Robbie gets punted from the club.
IMO it is a stupid, very destabilising decision by the head honcho's at WT right at the moment in the season when we needed 100% focus on making the finals.

Im VERY concerned with how we as a club are going to be perceived by potential recruits to our club in the future. We have a very poor track record of treating club legends like dirt….player's considering joining our club will be more than aware of that.
Hodgo, Benji and now Robbie have hardly been given the respect that their great service to our club warranted IMO. (Benji parading around in his rah-rah get-up was disrespectful to our club though).

Whatever club that did take Robbie would need to take around 350 k of his contract on ,ET is chasing around 450 k

Club legends as you like to call them FTB don't get involved in club politics

of the three you mentioned Hodgo is the only legend

Said it a million times , but players play , full stop

Pascoe added: “The ball needs to be, under the current coach’s game plan, it needs to be in their hands as quick as possible.”

Yes and you can see in games with Robbie starting, that the play the balls are awfully slow….....however, they are still better than Dene. Adding to that, Robbie has been quite good off the bench. Yes he does need to move on, yes the club does need to move forward........but we do have a shot at getting in the finals and I don't believe Robbie's form off the bench deserved him to be dropped, especially given we really have no available replacement.

This is a long term decision imo…. A decision for 2017 and beyond

Maybe.

However will it end up sacrificing 2016?

Were in the finals race for the first time in 4/5 years? We need everyone focused and firing. We have been playing decent footy and looked a happy side. Yet now wre replacing Farah as back uphooker wil Joel Edwards Cant this wait until were at least out of the race?

If this goes pear shaped Taylor will rightly cop plenty of heat.

Yeh he will cop heat, which is why I believe he has full support from all above him…. They'd know the flak they'll cop, and I'd say that yes they're prepared to sacrifice this year possibly for the future... It's a big big call but we aren't like other clubs where members can decide the fate of directors.
I doubt he'll play first grade again unless every hooker in the joint is lame

That's the point though, there is no guarantee that any club will be paying ANY of his salary so we will be paying him most if not all of his 900k regardless of whether he is playing for us or another club- it is stupidity to just snub a better than average player and pay all of his wage whilst getting nothing in return on the field.
No teams are beating down WT's door to grab Robbie off us- we are stuck paying him no matter what.

Must have been the members giving Taylor a spray with the Robbie Chant every time Robbie scored a try that got up his nose ….. Must have thought there's only one way to get even .........

The evil conniving coach.
Time to get revenge… Get even with JT eh?
(even though it's probably not his sole decision)

No matter whether anybody likes Farah or Benji there is no denying they are legends of our club.
"Players play"…. I agree, but without good players a club is doomed. You don't just cast off one of your best players over what seems to be a childish feud.
Coaches coach....not get involved in power struggles or feed personality clashes between themselves and their players.
It may turn out to be a great decision by JT but I'm just pissed off with the timing of the whole thing, I would not be at all surprised if the Dragons mop the floor with us on Sunday. This sort of garbage is hardly great for team harmony, other clubs must be laughing at our club yet again.

The point was made by Farahs management the first time this was mooted last year that they had no time to find Robbie another club ( despite ayoub working with the club without Farahs knowledge for weekslooking for another club)
There is plenty of time for him to find another gig… Current Origin hooker, marquee player, tackling machine... They should d be beating down his door

They should be but they aren't. That is the problem in this whole mess.
If we had a club that was willing to pay 600k or more of his salary next year then it would not be such a bone-headed decision unlike what it currently stands as.
The timing of it is atrocious.

So the mantra to pick the best 17 no longer applies
Defensive structures are obviously resolved now time to work on the non functioning attack.
Yep - I am buying that.
And couldn't spoil Denes retirement announcement will drop the bombshell the next day - oh but that also will effect Farah having his 250th game for the club at Leichardt - oh well.
What a wonderful organization this is.

I am not qualified to say whether Taylor is a good or bad coach from a technical standpoint, but his man management and sense of timing are simply terrible. Farah is a contracted player for this year and next-end of story. He is reportedly close to a number of our key players and is justifiably popular with fans and members many of whom must be far from impressed with his treatment irrespective of the reason belatedly dished up by our CEO when criticism of the move became viral. And why now? Right before a game we must win to have any real hope of playing finals football this year? Saints aren't going well, but are no easy beats and you can bet Benji will be fired up both for his own 250th and because of how disrespectfully Taylor has treated his old mate Robbie. And then there are the young guns like Teddy who are said to be close to Robbie who will no doubt remember the way their mate was treated when they sit down to discuss their own futures beyond 2017!

Wow, come in this morning to find an 18 page thread. I'm sure someone else has already said this but:

Taylor is UNITING the team with this decision …..Taylor is COMMITED in getting rid of Farah ....Talylor will ACHIVE what he has set out do do with this team .

UNITE COMMIT ACHIEVE well done Jason Taylor .

The bigger this gets the, less another club will take of Farah's contract come 2017\. Let's face it any potential buyers know our mob are desperate to offload him,so they can afford to play hardball.
