Wests Tigers star Robbie Farah dropped from NRL to reserve grade

Its the club who should hang its head in shame. I want Farah gone but I also ant him paid in full for 2016/2017\. I am sure if this was to happen he would walk away. The reality is we have vindictive people who have their own self interest at heart who are trying to run him out of town with another club paying the bill. At least we might challenge in reserve grade next year.

Yes, a legacy of the legendary Grant Mayer … What a disaster he was.
The current situation cannot be allowed to go on. The club will just have to take a massive hit to their finances if they can't find him a new club for 2017.

It was a terrible decision to sign Robbie up long term on that contract. The problem is that you can't go back in time and change that decision.

At the end of 2017 this all ends. At that point surely Robbie won't be here.

The longer the week has gone, the more I'm starting to believe it will be business as usual come Sunday. I don't think the higher ups we have now would tolerate any kind of sulking or tanking by the playing group. Been a long time coming, but I honestly believe we finally have leadership in the right area.

I think the team will come out firing and win the game easily. They need too.

I don't think it has anything to do with leadership. Unlike others I think on the whole first grade rugby league players don't need any special motivation and they want to perform to the best of their ability every time they take the field.

This is what all the bedwetters do not see or want to believe the club FINALLY has a group that are leading and it has been a long time coming . The coach has found his voice and has the support required to make the hard decisions and not before time , Talylor has put the team and club first and will cop the disgusting verbal and written crap that is being directed at him ,this is what being a leader is …unfortunately the Weststigers have been leaderless for so long the supporters think the leaders are burnt out players demanding what ever they like .Finally the word leadership can be put in the same sentence as the Weststigers :sign:

Over 24 hours since the bomb went off, my original emotional upheaval has subsided and I am thinking a little clearer and i am coming around to the idea.

At least i am now willing to give taylor a chance to prove his call is the right one and was based purely on football and nothing else. The guy has shown a ton of guts to make the call if in fact it is to fast track the dynamic trio because he has so much to loose. It surly would have much easier and safer to continue along as normal to the end of the season and than try and change things over the off season.

I guess Sunday will give us a few answers but in the meantime I will remain positive about what Taylor is trying to achieve but still not 100% convinced but getting closer

I wish I could find the thread leading into the Storm game where someone said JT would never have a set big enough to drop RF

I think that is all that's being asked, to just give it a chance. The side has already proven multiple times this yr that they can win without him.

One other thing. I'd have liked someone to have asked JT how he's expecting Robbie to play on Saturday. Whether he's happy for him to play his natural game, or if he wants him to show that he can execute the game plan Taylor wants, and that's him providing quick service to the halves.

How can anyone with an ounce of knowledge about the game not see that this desicion is for the benefit of the team and club…someone had to make the call...Taylor had the guts to make a hard choice...future of the club or bend over for one player that is not at his peak or as quick as he was....

If Bennett or Bellamy were at the helm at the club and made this call, would the RF loyalists be getting their knickers in a not....I doubt it...

Agreed.

Additionally, and what seems to get missed in all of this, Brooks and Moses now have the opportunity to substantially increase their market value. I sincerely doubt they will throw in the towel in protest over Farah's dropping because if they did, their value would plummet. It would just scream to other clubs they cant run a team without a security blanket.

They dominate the final section of the season without Farah playing, those earlier price tags will be more than justified.

Your right on that one. However Bellemy or Bennett have won premierships. Im not against trying to move Farah on and maybe they thought this was the only way. However even so I think he has been playing well ans the team has been playing well with him off the bench. You cant tell me we are better with Halatau and Joel Edwards playing hooker im sorry.

What has Jason Taylor achieved as a coach to date? He had one decent year at Souths before taking them backwards and ending in embarrassment. At the Tigers for 18 months we has won 15 games and lost 26.

I find it amazing people have so much faith in a bloke that has done nothing to prove he is a good NRL coach to date? We have a decent squad this year, 3 origin players, ET, Grant, good young halves. Yet we are sitting behind the Dragons, a terrible side. Like he said he himself we have a good squad and we should be further up the ladder.

He said he would fix the defence and were averaging 25 points plus a a game against? Thats going backwards, not improving. He bagged previous coches and made the defence is numbr 1 mantra yet 18 months in it doesnt seem much better to me, worse then last season infact.

He said the last 7 games proved were better without Farah which was factually wrong and bizarre. Start of the season he was right but the last y games Farah played 3/3 wins. So what the hell is he talking about here? We lost in this period 3 games without Farah playing?

Anyway Ill give him one thing he has picked a smart week to make the move. The Dragons are going TERRIBLE. Our reserve grade could probably beat them the way they played the last 2 weeks. Win this week and the Farah stuff goes away. He has picked a good week to do it.

My only real concern is we now have no dummy half kicking game and that can be a real weapon. Most teams have this at their disposal,Sharks and Storm are two that come to mind that use it to great advantage, but I guess there are plenty who don't.

Be interesting what happens on Sunday and I would love to see us burn the Dragons off the paddock, not to prove Taylor right, but just to beat the enemy

Doesn't matter what he has or hasn't done. He has the right as head coach to pick the team he wants.
He never wanted Farah from day one but rode with it for the sake of the club hoping robbie would adhere to his game plan.
We have the futures of the young guys to worry about, not yesterday's hero for nostalgic reasons.

Glad all the losers here are going to watch **a has-been** on Saturday while the real Wests Tigers smash the Dragqueens on Sunday.

Lucky I'm not cheeky and say;

"Better to have been, a **has been**, than a **never will be**, or **never was**"

Me, I am a **never will be** or **never was**, and glad to admit it.

If you can't see the fun in this post, well….

I had a good think about it last night, and this is my take on it. The club want Robbie and our imposter coach gone next year. They finally give the imposter the green light to not play Robbie, knowing its going to have a destabilising affect on the team. Also knowing that its so personal with the imposter coach that he will drop robbie, even though it will weaken the team as we dont have a recognised hooker (something great coaches like bellamy would never do). Farah is so pissed that he decides he wont stick around next year, and if we dont make semis the club has an out to get rid of the imposter coach. So its a double play by Pascoe and Oneil to get rid of both of them. I cAn cop that and im sure most of the farah supporters can, but how will you one eyed magpie supporters sleep at night when your imposter magpie coach is not here next year lol lol lol. :roll

Mate you been watching to many movies, take a bex and a cup of tea and chill out. Its only football, do not try and read your own imagination into the situation.

Of course he has the right to pick the team he wants. And we have the right to judge him on his results. So I am interested in how the rest of the season pans out.

You have faith that call the young guys will stick around and florish under JT.

Im not saying this wont happen, but i would by lying if i said i didn't have doubts. Morale within the group is crucial. We need guys like Woods, Teddy, Moses and Brooks to want to be at this club long term. Do they see a bright future under Taylor? Maybe they do, I hope so, but like i said i have doubts.

Robbie's dummy half kicking is atrocious. He needs to cut it out entirely.
A handful of good kicks in his career isn't good enough.

One thing, out of all of this, it certainly has brought out everyone's passion for wests tigers.

**The un controllable passion that we ALL want to see them achieve and play finals footy.**

Eddie I know what your saying, but most of the players when interviewed lately have been very supportive of Taylor and in TT,s latest post he talked about Teddy and Taylor having a close bond. Okay this could all be spin, but i get the feeling the majority of the squad are behind Taylor…maybe not on
this call, but the dust settles very quickly. One thing for sure Taylor needs a good win,a happy team is a winning team and it will all go pear shape in a flash if we loose to a team like the Dragons who are on struggle street
