Wests Tigers team for Round 1

Dogs fans seem very cocky about this game, looking at their team I have no idea why….

i think it will be a tight game Don't ever underestimate doggies they have had a production of rough and tough forwards over the years and these new guys aren't there to make up the numbers especially when you see they Have Michael Hodgson , Chris Armit Grant Millington and Dean Halatau in NSW cup . I think we will win but hope players don't go into game with same attitude as some people on forum or we will lose through lack of respect

Not sure on Utai and can't workout how anyone could be. He's been basically unsighted in FG for the best part of two seasons hasn't he?

we tried to sign him for last season but celtic wanted a transfer fee so he ended up playing park football with auburn.
in folkes we trust on this one i guess.

I had a lurk on the bulldogs forum and they seem to think our pack is soft & kevin moore picked a team with a great game plan in mind, choosing a mobile pack that'll take all thrown at 'em and keep coming back.
I don't know, on paper we look the goodz but not doubting an upset, will be an interesting game.

I dont know how they can brand our pack soft. Ellis, Heighington, Gibbs, Galloway, Fifita, Dwyer, theres no way i would want to be hit by any of that lot. Sounds like typical bulldog arrogance.

Weeks ago I was told we were struggling with injuries to our forwards and some were not going to be available for a while to train let alone play. I am skeptical on Ellis being good. The club have announced question marks on the knees of Gibbs and Payten but Gibbs broke his knee 5 months ago and still played against the dragons.

It's a mystery alright .

This is what worries me these guys are not right at start of the season How are they going to be after round 10 onwards I know Gibbs ,Ellis, Gallaway, Payten are as tough as they come but injuries do take a toll and reduce your ability to play at 100% . As much as we have great talent coming through I can't see Fifita, BMM , Woods and Shirnack being able to cope with playing 50-60 minutes of NRl week in week out at this stage and still being effective as they are now .

I also have injury concerns about our pack firstly because the team hasn't played its first comp game yet and already there is a cloud over the fitness of some key forwards. Ellis is a worry, couldn't play in the trials and the club line that his injury would improve over time rather than an operation isn't convincing. I saw Gibbs in pain when he injured his left knee against the roosters and Payten hasn't played yet either. All that can be done is to have faith in Sheens and his staff that these players are right to play (if they do). I am looking forward to being at the game on Monday night and hoping the selections are black and white (and gold) and not grey otherwise the result could be disappointing!!

Ellis was reportedly very close to playing against the Roosters in the Foundation Cup. Whether that was indeed the case, I don't know, but given Payten has not taken part in any trials and only recently resumed running, I think there's a cloud over him playing, maybe Gibbs too, he didn't take any part in the second half against the Roosters…Smokescreen or not, I won't be surprised to see a late change or two.

Gibbs, Ellis & Payten in doubt

if that's the case looks like Dwyer and Fifita start. Hope sauce gives them some curry and leads from the front his opportunity to lead the aggression.
