Wests Tigers Team v Canberra Rd 1

Biggest worry for the team is Joey and Roberts defence! I can see this being an area that other teams will target throughout the year. Hope the boys been working hard on defence.

So I was thinking maybe madge has taken talau so if liddle gets tired mbye can shift too hooked laurie to 5/8 kepoa too fullback and talau to the wing . Kepoa did a lot of fullback training in the preseason from what has been said so I wonder if that's more the thought rather then talau into 5/8?

I see where your coming from, and it may happen, but we had far to many positional changes last year, and this ruins confidence and combinations,,. Silly Fittler air walker stuffed NSW by playing people out of position, if your not good enough for your position you should not be there at all.

Tim Sheens would have been proud of that, but instead of doing that due to an injured or tiring player, it would have been his starting line up.

Its alot of positional changes and in key positions it definitely wouldn't be ideal. Stranger things have happened though lol. Will be interesting to see how he puts it all together

I would have thought the simplest thing would be Talau to 5/8 and Mbye to hooker....minimise changes.

Brooks is running both sides of the field this year, so our 5/8 can be a running half. Talau fits that role perfectly. Seems to have put on a yard of pace in the off season too.

I think the more likely scenario is Mbye giving Liddle a 20 minute rest with Talau playing five eighth during that period.

Yeh i think that's what will happen was just throwing it out there because I know laurie has stated hes a 5/8 also and maybe they would just wanna see how he handles it incase AD doesn't work. Ur bang on though i think they will play talau there

Alex Seyfarth and Tuki Simpkins drop off reserves ..Michael Chee-Kam and Jock Madden travel with the team...

Wow. 4 of those players in our 2020 team round 1 aren't even playing NRL anymore and the other, Jennings, isn't likely to start play any time soon.

I'd like to know what has happened to Kepaoa's left leg, he's got a tremendous amount of strapping on it at the moment. Depending what the problem is I'm not sure I'd be risking him for round 1.

Yikes that doesn't sound too good.

Isn't rain predicted also?
Hopefully this doesn't affect our game plan too much though.
It's why I don't really care to comment too much on other games...as we may now be playing wet weather footy - which I think we've always been historically poor with.

Rain is predicted all morning but expected to clear by kick off. Game time temperature will be 14 degrees... Based on how fit we look I would have loved a Saturday home game in today’s 30 degree heat vs the Raiders. Not to worry, it just makes it a tougher challenge for the boys. Hope they’re up to it.

Tamou looks focused, Hodgson looks disinterested

Our pack is much larger this year across the whole 17.

Will be tough but I reckon we can do it.

Can’t wait to see the Leiluas on the same side. That’s going to be awesome.

Hope the Bash Brothers defence is up to it.

For the very short time they were together on the right hand side it looked pretty shakey last season.

Pretty sure they will cause plenty of problems for Sticky's boys in attack, with any luck Curtis Scott goes home with a massive headache.

It’s bucketing down now so hopefully it stops well before 4pm.
