Benji Marshall being dropped is the only interesting story. Do you expect media to go with: 'madge drops a bunch of players you don't know'? Dropping Marshall is a great story for them.

I strongly disagree with dropping Benji unless it is just for a rest or nursing an injury. He's still our best player on the field. He has been exposed a little defensively, but teams on the back foot iaren't a good recipe for halves looking good in defense and I don't think BJ has been much help to him. If anything I'd drop BJ from that pairing, hasn't shown much yet, whereas we wouldn't have won two games without Benji and he should have had the winning field goal in the Titans game.

I also think there's too many changes this week. Once you start doing that things get messy and I question Madge's judgement if he thinks he got it so wrong in team selections to start the restarted season that he has to make so many changes now.

Haven't seen much from Madge I haven't liked, including his impressive press conference on Sunday, but this strikes me as being ill considered and you potentially create more problems than you fix by switching everything from the halves pairing to the forward pack to the backline.

Jennings had to be dropped, but he shouldn't have been picked in the first place, other changes are shuffling similar types around so I don't mind. But Benji's still the key to our team so he should be there and Madge has made a mistake. Reynolds is a good player, and deserves to be playing 1st grade on some team, but he plays with an unhelpful madness in his game and he doesn't have Marshall's vision. Unless he went badly against the game plan or has been shirking it in training, I don't see it.

He’s cut that’s for sure

I’m glad he’s cut up about it. Shows he will fight.

When Lawrence is in the starting side you certainly know the cupboard is bare .

That is beneath even you Snake.

He’s 100% right though.

Personally I think he is 100% incorrect.

How much pressure does Garner put on kickers - 95% of the time none.

Does he do more dirty hitups than Garner - NO.

Yeah! he's at the bottom of the barrel - get serious. MCK and Eisenhuth are the bottom of the barrel imo.

Tommy on wing is risky.

True. But can't be any worse than Jennings

As a big Marshall fan that interview was tough to watch. Really hope he gets back into the team and regains the form we saw most of last season

I think Lawrence has value in defence, kick pressure and being an 80 minute player. He's probably our best defensive player tbh. Garner isn't a bad defender though, but I think Garner rarely plays 80 and Luciano, Lawrence and Twal can all do 80 minutes or near enough meaning we can always have fresh props out there which in turn will take the defensive pressure off of Grant. I quite like the balance of the pack. Talau has played a bit of wing in reggies and tbh he dominated in his reggies games on the wing so I wouldn't be stunned if he has a real good game. He'll be a huge upgrade on Jennings at any rate.

I’m stoked for Tommy - I’ve seen enough of him in JF and CC to know he will be fine on the wing. Best of luck to the young fella!

He is right about kick pressure on opposition halves tho..Something no one did on Sunday..it is something Lawrence does well ...I have seen him shut down some of the best halves in the game..

Thank God Jennings is gone! Bench is much better, though Walters can think himself unlucky.

Don’t really understand why Garner was dropped, especially for Lawrence who really is way past his prime. Garner is a good young player, he played great against the Sharks and was hardly the problem against the Titans.

And Brooks still there...sigh...the guy could commit murder and still be chosen in first grade. He really is the most blessed and fortunate player I’ve ever seen. Reynolds at 6 and Benji at 7 would fill me with much more confidence.

Justin Holbrook made a heap of changes going into our game on sunday…..how did it work out for him..
Des made changes at Manly....Pay made changes at the Dogs....

MacGregor makes no changes with his origin roster and how are they going....

Just asking...

Talau is a centre not a winger but hope he kills it. He should probably.replace Mmbye in centre
Jennings had a shocker on saturday but his other two games back have been good i think we might be saying on monday bring back jennings
I think Douhie at fullback defensively is the big risk he is out of position all the time

Rightfully cut that the pussy halfback stays in the side while he takes the fall for the loss.

People are saying Talau isn’t a winger and they’re right, but Andrew Webster mentioned starting him on the wing long time ago. He would’ve been training there a good while now and hopefully he does a good job.

From memory, when Benji Marshall returned to the Tigers, wasn't the main reason this happened was to cover for Josh Reynolds? But constant injuries to Josh meant Benji was always in the starting side

Maybe that time has finally arrived??

I would have left Benji in the side as I am very concerned about Reynolds ability to perform without more errors and chaos. Benji's biggest flaw has been his D and Reynolds is not much better in his reads.
I would have included Lawrence in the starting side as a minder in D for Benji instead of Luc (moving Garner back to the LHS). I believe Luc struggles for impact over 80 mins and would be better getting solid stints off the bench.
I would have ET on the bench for Seyfarth as he provides much more dimension to his play and is a relentless defender. Also I am concerned that Grant is not quite ready for 80mins. I noticed he got caught out a couple of times against the Titans.
I like Packer being given a go if he is really ready and up for it. As for Musgrove, I have wanted him there all along but assumed he didn't satisfy Madge with his work ethic through the Covid break.
My bench would be Packer, Mikaele, ET and Luc
