Nah not against this mob, he'll get burned on his outside. It's a large part of why we moved him out of the centres in the first place, too much feet planting and not enough lateral speed generally. MCK would be a better option I think.

Im not particular a fan of Kev at centre up against the Raiders.
Idris should be able to hit and stick to the big boppers running at our centres better than Kev.
Even if Idris holds them out for 50 mins, then Lawrence fills in at centre for the last 30 and we have an extra forward on the bench.

Yeah I agree. Our centres really need to be on their game this week as the Raiders have some big blokes who will likely exploit our very poor defence in the centres (or everywhere). Idris would have been the better choice but who knows, he may be injured or not putting in the work.

Maybe Lawrence and Chee Kam could swap positions at some point in the match. It has advantages.

Lawrence was used at centre because that suited Benji, who liked to drift a bit wider. The move to back row was done to pair with Brooks, who likes to work closer to the ruck. Rowdy is also Brooks' minder in defence.

If we were to move Rowdy back to centre that just moves the hole in the defence, leaving Brooks exposed.

I'm not sure you can say Idris and 50 minutes in the same sentence. He looked a bit better in the Panthers game, against Souths he was struggling just to get back on side in the last 20 and didn't keep up with any of Nofa's line breaks. Still not a 50 minute proposition, much less the 80 we need.

I hope this injury doesn't set Idris back too much, he's got to get first grade fit quickly. I'm glad he's not named this week, you just can't carry a 30 minute centre. Aaron Woods plays more minutes ffs, and he's got the toughest job on the park.

It will be a tough game in Canberra, but there will be no end to the tough games if the boys don't defend right.

I re-watched (gluten for punishment i know) the game and i don't think we lost the Panthers game because of our pack. Even including the bombed try's we failed to cross the line enough times because of our pack. our halves had nothing to work with. Plus our kicking game was rubbish.

The panthers had both our the right and left side at 6's and 7's when attacking. In the majority of try's conceded our line had enough players to snuff out the attack, we just misread or didn't defend as a unit.

Canberra's attack is different they will try and run through us and that with our team may mean we are at least a chance of making contact. If we get our kicking game right and can keep them moving in defence then i think we are a chance.
