Wests Tigers Team v Canterbury *Official

Thinking of how good our team looked these first two rounds reminded of how as recently as two years ago they were absolutely awful. We lost to Penrith 36 -2 and Canberra 46 - 6 in round 2 and 3\. Our sides featured Kev and MCK in the centres, McIlwrick at 9 and a forward rotation of Ava, Sue, JOEL EDWARDS and Jamal Idris. Six out of those seven are not playing in the NRL this round and the other, MCK, has averaged about 10 minutes for the season. We were also playing Littlejohn off the bench.

Wow. We have come a very long way since the decision to sack JT.

Anyone heading out to the game tomorrow? I should be there in time to watch the Canterbury Cup match - looking forward to seeing how Reynolds and co perform.

Salary Cap and bugger all of it to spend, that was the reason, the coach was an aside in comparison.

Viewing wise, will be finishing off a birthday party at Timezone for my son and then catching it on Foxtel.

Yeah heading down to the game tomorrow, will try and get there and watch all 3 grades again.

I would love to be there today Willow, but I have drawn the short straw,we are hosting the Illawarra Penents sides at my golf club about 80 players …..I have to work but will catch the game on fox at 4pm…I hope a heap of the forum boys and girls get out there and have a great day....

That’s what happens when you finally have freedom with your salary cap. Maguire doesn’t know how lucky he is compared to Potter and JT.

Kickoff is 1am Toronto time, so I will not be watching it live… will watch it first thing in the morning on watchnrl.com

Definitely, but you only have to look at our opponents this afternoon to see the effect that serious cap issues do to a club.

The traitor walked into situation that allowed huge opportunities that his predecessors could only dream of and similarly, Maguire has reasonable wriggle room. Pretty sure that they did/still still retain a good chunk of the previously assembled assistant and support staff for their reigns.
