WESTS Tigers Team V Cowboys...

I might need my glasses checked but I cant see how that Aloiai is not in the team? He is the gun break through the line for a try guy who only needs some good coaching to become a star! Maybe they are trying to get some minutes into his legs by playing ISP but I am still puzzled by his being dropped ?

Very weird. I like the team if he is in there.

I know he dropped 2 balls against Parra, but geez he is the only one who can really bend the line. The only one who when he charges on to it from 10 out you think might get through. And if he doesn't he will at least hold up 3-4 defenders.

Like a lot of people on this forum, I wanted a few roster changes after the poor performance against the Warriors. However, after reflecting and hearing about the poor recent performances of the ISP team, I have to concede that this lineup is close to the best available. I wanted Benji gone and he probably deserved to be demoted but who replaces him? Reynolds is injured and Gamble has suffered a drop in form. I was a staunch critic of Nofa but I though he was one of our best last week. The only selection I scratch my head at is Rochow. In my view, he has been soft and ineffectual for weeks and I would have much preferred to see Alouai in the back row.

Agreed steve

Be surprised if Rowdy plays.

Hopefully Packer gets the forwards rolling. I'd imagine a number of the new guys would be looking forward to playing at Leichhardt.

Expect Changes…

Have you expressed your concerns to the club about the side have to face yet another desperate team

Maybe when we put our requests for things we'd like in the draw we ask to play less non desperate sides in 2019 ??

Can only help in the long term , almost as bad as being defending premiers and having to face clubs who want to knock off last years premiers , possibly worse

Given the short turn around I would be surprised if Lawrence is a able to play this week which will open up a spot for McQueen with MCK joining the starting side.

I think Lawrence's uncertainty has allowed Rochow to retain his spot for this weekend but needs a huge game.

Josh Aliolia is a major disappoint as he when need his aggression and line break capabilities. Something must be going on off field for his demotion.

I also would have Grant ahead of Sue.

Will fully support IC and his decisions.

From This Day Forward I got the impression Aloiai isn’t the fittest player on the team…unsure whether he’s being trained as a 25 minute, high impact player and that’s the reason.

And Sue? The bloke nearly carked it on TV hill runs, knowing he was being filmed.

Didn’t think about it. Was trying to justify Aloiai’s exclusion. Sue has traditionally played longer minutes though, right? They’re different players for mine. Don’t get me wrong, I want Josh in the team. He was great at the end of last year and against Melbourne.

Same goes for me…..It amazes me that R Rochow is still in this team as he doesn't seem to offer much in my eyes. Seems like Kyle Lovett Mark II

Suaso would play more minutes if he wasn't getting a HIA test done nearly every week.
I'm sure he was off against the warriors correct me if I'm wrong. Player welfare has to come into play soon I'm sure of it.

Aloiai plays one good game every month or two, the rest are average and often ill-disciplined.

Does that one game where he smashes through the line really blind people to all his poor games?

No, I understand where you are coming from. From the pre-season there was evidence of a spectrum of fitness levels within the team, which is normal, and I wouldn't be overly surprised if Sue and Aloiai weren't at the top.

So I agree with you that I can't exactly say why Sue is in and Aloiai is dropped, because earlier in the season Aloiai was keeping Sue out. I had a hunch that Sue last week was providing another prop option with Packer still out, allowing Hooth to switch to lock and rotating Mats / Twal / Grant and Sue. That may still be true, with Packer back and Grant dropped, but honestly if we are talking about props, I felt Grant was out-performing Sue in his matches.

So I can only guess it's not actually about Sue, it's about not carrying two backrowers on the bench, and MCK is in better recent form. Problem with Aloiai is he does highlights stuff - some great carries and big tackles, but I haven't easily been able to keep a really close eye on his minutes or his 1%ers.

He is so overrated, he is lucky to make the reserves.

Lawrence is heading down the same track as well …
Sue , Taylor and Lawrence...all marshmallow heads .

I believe Rowdy passed his cog tests…bit surprising...

It's a bit concerning the amount of head knocks both Lawrence and Taylor are copping .

Sue's just a walking head knock .
