Wests Tigers Team v Cronulla

I don’t think it’s fickle to start to worry about seeing a very familiar decline in line with strange player selections. If you need a refresher on where West’s season goes from here historically, check the Juro thread.

Also, if you think that only loosing by 2 last week in that abortion of a game to a heavily depleted roosters is something to gloat about You should probably re evaluate your expectations of a first grade rugby league team.

A lot of over-reactions to this week's team. It's not like they got mauled last week, nor like the Magpies are doing tremendous things in ISP.

Plenty of accountability from the coach even up until this round - Grant picked again after a good performance last week, Rochow not promoted, Liddle playing ISP due to lack of match fitness, Fonua dropped for missing training.

With Lolo - obviously Ivan has a plan there and obviously he doesn't see Thompson as a genuine permanent replacement. Some fans reckon otherwise, but fans don't coach FG sides. Also obviously, Mbye signed and trying to get him over now, either Tui or Thommo are stop-gap for fullback.

I just want to know who the complainers are putting in. GNR said it, people whinging for Kev Naiqama to play just to spite Lolo at FB.

I think we just don't have a team wirh stars for Roosters and Sharks. Team selection isn't wrong. We don't have a superstar fullback and hooker in reserves unfortunately.

I have been pretty positive all year.

However lets not gloss over last week as a gutsy 2 point loss.

We went in the game as favourites against a depleted Roosters and blew it.

These were the games Cleary assembled this sort of squad to win.

And we lost it ourselves. They didn't beat us. That is disappointing.

Im still really happy with the way we are competing. However we need some improvement in attack.

I dont want 5-6 changes however I thought 1 or 2 were needed in key spots.

Anyway lets see how it goes this weekend. Hopefully I'm wrong and we come out and win.

To be brutally honest we have depth as a club but we dont have outstanding talent in the squad.I am pleased with the effort Ivan is getting out of the team which makes us competitve each week.
We need and i am sure we will have more class at the club next year let Ivan/Pascoe do their job.Far to many people on here wanted to believe it could all be rectified in 1 off season. It takes time.

Not a truer word spoken on this forum…..and just to add I honestly think Benji is stifling Brooks and he cant control the game with Benji taking over...thats why Tui and others cant start making inroads and playing to the gameplan because Benji breaks it down with the miracle play at the worst moments of the game..
This squad can and will beat some of the best in the NRL,however they need to gel and sort things out which doesnt happen overnight....

BINGO!!!!

That's when you know Round 1 was a big fluke….they had there best players missing and we cough up that performance .

There is no direction in our attack , it's like no one knows what we are going to do or how we are supposed to attack in the opposition Red Zone .
To much one out stuff and no variety, it's so easily read for the opposition as long as the opposition doesn't rush up we are no threat in attack .

Lolohea should of been dropped and Thompson to fullback with Naiqama to Centres , Reynolds for Benji with Benji to Reserves and Tyson Gamble to the bench ( that's what i would have done ).

How ET is still hooker is dumb , his service from dummy half is poor and thought Cleary was smarter than that .

That is the truth Eddie we crossed the line twice in the first half and were unable to score. Hopefully this week we score when the opportunities present themselves.

Would prefer Frozone in on the wing and Thompson to fullback, as for the hooking spot….....oh boy, Godinet I guess over ET, maybe, possibly, we just have no one to really cover Liddle and clearly Killa isn't setting the world on fire in the lower grades to even be considered.

Early season accountability gone. What a joke. Ivan deserves to get whacked by 50.

Little effort by the coach …needed to get to Melbourne, obviously this is as good as it gets for the remainder of 2018 ...

Wake up you pair of fools, obliviously its gone over your empty heads the amount of work Ivan Cleary has put into the revival of the Tigers as a team and a brand.

What would you expect the team was beaten by 2 points and competed until the 80th minute last Sunday.
"Sirro", do you ever have anything to say that is positive, your constant whinging is childlike to put it mildly.

I’ll back you up Tigers17\. To insinuate that Cleary has neglected his work is so bloody immature it’s not funny. Can’t believe how quickly some people turn. Just pathetic. Cleary has done and is doing an amazing job. The team is doing well for what we have.

Also - if my son was debuting in Melbourne I’d be there too. It’s what good parents do!

Nobody is gloating, just looking for perspective. That Roosters side is still better than ours. I said it before, calling that Roosters side depleted is like calling James Packer poor because he left his wallet at home.

Ferguson, Tupou, Aubusson, Keary, Cronk, JWH, Friend, Liu, Radley, Taukeiaho would all make our starting side.

Roosters didn't play great either - they had lots of opportunities at our end and we mostly turned them away. But Roosters have the second-best defence in the comp, that's half the reason we struggled to score.

Yes we played poorly but that's not an easy-beat Roosters side.

Mad expectations of some people for a team that came 14th last year and won 7 games all season. We've already won the same # games in half the season.
