WESTS Tigers Team V Knights..

Who is our goal kicker this week ?surely its not MM.

Honestly, I don't mind him kicking provided he calms down, takes aim and kicks when he is more settled
He misses them when he rushes the kicks
He does need to understand that value of each 2 points he doesn't covert
\
\
At the same time he is only a kid, heart rate probably is 200BPM when lining a kick
Its easy for me being a keyboard warrior giving advice

Wow its getting hard to follow this club! Same dud players
All the time.
Good luck JT, no doubt we will get the win over the second last placed Knights on the back of Teddy's brilliance.

Seems a bit hypocrytical BT giving me a thumbs down when you agree that they are picking dud players

No sorry rex but i accidentally hit the thubs down button when i was trying to give you a thubs up. It wouldn't let me change it.

Taylor is becoming the new Sheens. Playing favourites and refusing to make changes.

Oh well he will dig his own grave in the end.

Malone is one of the most talentless players I ever seen come into first grade.

What do you mean, BECOMING the new Sheens?? He is the IS the new Sheens!! On the 'What Grinds Your Gears?' thread, I said that poor team selections was my biggest gripe and I can feel those cogs grinding away now! In my opinion, Lovett, Brooks and Cherrngton should all be dropped. Often a coach would respond to a poor performance by taking the easy way out and demoting a winger but he can't even do that! Rankin is the other player who should be replaced and I'll be honest, the return of Sironen does not instill me with confidence as his performances have not matched the hype.

I've said it before, a refusal to make changes when they are clearly needed, encourages and rewards mediocrity and frustrates players within the club who are not being given a chance. I'd even add that there are probably players within first squad who are skeptical and who question Taylor's lack of guts. The misplaced loyalty and boys club mentality has to stop.

I keep saying it… Although most want changes.... I remember the days when half the squad was in rehab and we had a different team each week..... But well done to the S&C team.... We are at least for and healthy

yeah it's nice to see

I think the players delivered it.

Yes Hobbo, He did.
That was one of his statements either late last year or early this year.
I wondered how long that it would be before he'd wish he'd never said it.
Maybe Robbie has had his boot soles built up to meet JTs criteria.
Another JT Howler

Sometimes putting a burr under the saddle works.

Robbie will not play 80 minutes. Halatau will spend some time at hooker with Siro and Lovechild playing in the backrow

Yeah absolutely.

The Guy delivered what was the one thing I wanted to experience before I left this Earth…....a Premiership and for that will always be grateful.

Don't get too touchy now, made my hair (on the arm) stand up
Or was it just the air con…

I'm with you, that GF in 2005 engraved the words "wests Tigers" in my heart
Players may not be one club man/men but i will die being a WT supporter.

Obviously the rumour about Taylor having KPIs in his contract is s***, otherwise why would he pick Malone who is not even in the top 25, i am 64 years old and would still make a better first grade centre than that moron (sponsorship or not)

It was a gee up  , Simona is playing…...but actually 😱pen_mouth: if he doesn't beat the charge please don't tell me Milone is on standby :rant :rant

Ooops he's not….

We can always do with a good forum meltdown tho...

Surely you realise that most coaches pick mostly the same teams most weeks?

What do you reckon Dogs fans are saying right now about T-Rex getting a run, or Chase Stanley in the centres. You reckon Dessie is going to cut them this week?

Or Dylan Walker at 5/8th for Manly, how long does that tragic experiment last?

Or Gutherson on the wing at Parra.

Coaches like consistency and I don't know why people say it's a Sheens thing, when it's also been a Potter thing, Taylor thing, Hasler thing, Bennett thing, Bellamy thing.

It's just easier to justify consistent selections when the team is winning.

Really is that real team? With Rankin?

We haven't been losing because of Rankin.

Further to that I like his footy nous, launched some nice returns with excellent shifts at the back.
Holds his space very nicely and is very good at dragging his winger out wide or finding his own space.
It is not flashy but important stuff.

You can't really mention Hasler, Bellemy and Bennett coached sides alongside ours.

They have been winners for years.

Michael Maguire though he was not afraid to swing the axe against guys like Issac Luke and a couple of other senior players.

Im a School teacher and if you don't take control and set standards early kids then know they can away with things and things creep into their make up. They get comfortable.

It might be a slightly different analogy however I would like to see poor performances sometimes give a guy a jolt and drop them. You might get a proper reaction. Otherwise guys just carry on doing the same things.

Yes jirskyr, I do realise that many teams pick mainly the same squad from week to week and, of course that should be the aim of most coaches. What I notice too, is that the majority of teams change the occasional player now and again due to lack of form. The point is that there are several players who are under performing at the moment and this necessitates at least one or two changes. If you read carefully, you'll notice I made more than one point, the first one being the need to drop players due to poor form, the second being that players should be picked according to form, not popularity or the need to satisfy local player quotas. Did you read the 'Easter Update'? Sheens refused to drop certain players no matter how they were playing. However, I agree that he deserves credit for delivering our first premiership in 36 years!
