WESTS Tigers Team V Knights..

Dont want to float my boat but i haveba 100% record so far this year in tippong the Tigers. Get on newcastle people, they are specials. We will get on a run of 5 straight wins late in the year.

I'm also 5/5 tipping the Tigers, and have picked them this week. So one of us will be 5/6 and the other 6/6.
I think JT will have them in a mood to play. All he has to say is "you really don't want to get beat by the Knight, go out there and show em who's boss".

Same here, I'm 5/5 tipping tigers and have tipped them this week.

The other important factor is that we have a full strength pack for the first time all year.

While people are critical of Lovett he has a much different role this week as he is moved to what is 4th bench player this week with Sironen also on the bench.

This means that he is mainly on the bench for injuries - be that in the backs or forwards. The 4th bench player has only averaged 10 minutes excluding where Siro was injured 10 mins in.

Given this and assuming no injuries during the match will mean that instead of playing the 65 mins he has averaged in the first 5 games he will be only asked for 10 or 15 mins. I think at this stage of his career Lovetts problem has been when he has to play too many minutes like it would be for any player not quite at that level - they can compete for a short period like Aloia has but when asked to do lots of minutes they make mistakes and give away penalties in desperation.

I think this will mean we will play a lot better (pending in game injuries) and get the win over the knights.

My only concern is the backline replacement for Simona - which is why I think the defence of Chee-Kam or Fine would be the solid option but given we are playing the knights then the speed of Ado-Carr is worth a trial with Rankin into the centres

This is true, although I think he'll play more than 10-15\. Whatever he does play, he will be more effective in doing it over less minutes. It's when he gets tired that he starts to get owned.

Same goes for Siro.

NRL's friday late mail.

Wests Tigers: With Tim Simona suspended for three weeks after failing to have his dangerous contact charge downgraded at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night, Chris Lawrence, Dene Halatau or Kyle Lovett could join the backline. That would see Curtis Sironen move to the starting side and Michael Chee Kam come into the final 17\. Nathan Milone is also a chance of being a direct replacement for Simona

Can't sleep, Lovett might play in the centres

Nothing surprises me any more with selections ,what has been stated in Late Mail is garbage ,the 3 mentioned have absolutely no claim on a centre position there are other more eligible players waiting for a call up .Taylor has to show he is capable of getting it right and not relying on the old guard time to step up for the coach!

The club has this year spent good money in very short supply in order to build up a competitive set of back-up players (including centres). The season is now into Round 6 and of the back up players only Aloaia and Rankin have been given a chance to show their capabilities in first grade. Players of the calibre of Buchanan and Lovett have however been given every chance in first grade. Milone was given chances in first grade last year and showed that he was well below first grade standard. It is now time for Taylor to give players like Peni, Chee Kam, Addo Carr and Heleta their chance in first grade.

We have to win this game to save face for all of us long suffering Wests Tigers supporters up here in the Hunter.. I will be in bay 50 :sign:

agree with all that Lovett will perform 1000 percent better coming off the bench for 20 minutes or so… still worried if Milone plays centre though

as an aside - how much do you reckon NRL gossip columnists could manipulate a betting market by coming up with a complete BS line like 'Tedesco is in doubt'?

Milone in so there you have it …that will do me!!

Please tell me your joking. Was making the trip up to Newcastle tomorrow but if Milone is in I will make other plans.
