I'd take Capt Feathersword over Mr Tamou ATM..

If I call Fred Fittler "Fred frog" and get accused of name calling, is that the same as calling our captain "Capt Feathersword"
As I remember last we you upvoted a post by another forum member backing him up on my apparent name calling
Is this a mates club, double standards or both

Just saying it as I see it

By the way I don't have a problem with Captain Feathersword
Our captain appears soft

Nicknames is Aussie tradition, political correctness kills all humour, some people should get a life.

Would have thought Reece Hoffman as the reserve outside back would have been the preferred option over Pauga. Pauga Misses a tonne of tackles where's Reece is defensively solid and loves a try. But I'll back him and Madge 100%. Go Wests Tigers!

He looks too slow for the backline
Dare I say it…slower than forum favourite Tommy Talau

Has a good physique.
Looks solid.

I honestly think he's only around because we wanted Simpkin so bad and they're best mates.

Give em both a deal and move em down.

Hoffman hasn't looked impressive in the cup games I've watched.

Talau, not much better.

Didn't realise the game was at the sunny coast. Tickets still available if anyone's keen

I wonder if I could get a leave pass, I love the Sunny Coast.

Forgot it was being played there. Glad I'm moving to Nambucca Heads from Brisbane so I can be as far away as possible from the impending disaster. 🙂

I say about bloody time, finally some common sense from the coach

James Roberts confirms this is how they will line up

Would also assume we see the pairings of:

Talau/Maumalo (left)

Robert’s/Nofa (right)

Now we can leak points from both sides!

If only people would have some faith in what Madge is trying to do with the young and inexperienced players we have, its not an easy assignment considering that they are young, intimidated and sometimes fearful of the seasoned opposition players...
I remember when I was a reserve grader and made my debut in fg ...I shat my pants.these guys are no different because they have so much more to play for....they are still only human and we must, particularly as adults understand what effect it has on them...

sidenote....its not about me and when I played...its an observation made from experience...

Bra, loved your post about James Roberts.
Have you seen the movie money ball?

I agree what you say to an extent but sometimes we need to call a spade a spade.

Talau? Not good enough.
Will he ever be good enough? Who knows.
I personally don't think so.

We see players come through and some make it, some don't.

I believe strongly we need to recruit FG ready centres NOW instead of persisting with the young, scared players or whatever else.

Here's 2 names, realistic and available.

SEBASTIAN KRIS AND HARLEY SMITH-SHIELDS.

Completely agree with your input Demps, who better than say JTJ to keep the young guys focussed on their NRL dream and how much work it takes to make the cut so to speak..JTJ isnt as bad as some people make out,he has the runs on the board and is trying to help as much as he can to develop the up and comers....he gets a 100 out of 100 for his input and advise that is so much needed in this arena where you are a somebody or a nobody at the drop of a hat...ask Simpkin our next RF how tough it is....

I like JTJ, I've met him and he's pretty down to earth.
I prefer him on the wing than centre but yeah, we're making good moves in the indigenous/community service world and as you said, we've got some really good mentors. Especially for indigenous players coming through.

I'd like Jet retained and for him to succeed.
Our team doesn't play to his strengths so I feel we've yet to see him at his best.

However, our problems need to be addressed.
Sooner rather than later.

And that is OUR CENTRES.

spot on mate. Th work we are doing in that space is incredible and people like the Jet are needed at the club. Haven't met him, but seen him interviewed many times and he's incredibly honest about where the is at. We need people like that.

Melbourne by 40 but I hope the refereeing is better than last week.

We've lost 10 of our last 11 where Gerard Sutton was the referee. I won't be holding my breath.
