Tupou and Fergi might have the height in this match
But I do think the MWZ and Thompson may have the edge with there speed

I am surprised with Goodinets selection
I hope he kills it until Liddle becomes available
Goodinet may become the new Nickorima of the bench for us when Benji retires or is injured
 
I would have liked Milne over Kev and Fonua before Thompson on the wing as it would be a much stronger backline. I think Mitchell and Teddy and their outside backs will take a lot of stopping. The Roosters should win by twenty against the team picked !

I agree 100% with Milne over Kev
But I hope Kev can prove his selection is deserved
Fonoa would need his Asma puffer after 5 minutes
Maybe if he came off the bench with 5 to go and smashed Teddy all the way passed the dead ball line just like a Luke Brookes kick from 20 out, Then I agree put him on the bench

I am fairly happy with the squad IC has put together for 18\. We have a strong squad but are lacking a few marquee players to be real final contenders. We were never going to attract any marquee players this year after our season from hell and losing Teddy, Sharon and Moses. Even our own players didn't wanna play for us last year. Never has there been a captain of a professional sporting team trying to recruit his own team members for another club for the next season that I know of.

Yeah I would prefer to see that. More size, better bench composition and better defence.
 
Forwards are ok.

Concern is in the backs bringing the ball back and making dirty metres from our end. Thompson and MWZ probably won't give us that.

I'm a little surprised (maybe even a little disappointed) that Lolohea is starting at FB. Thompson looked pretty good there in the trials and if form is worth anything, he gets the nod.

Would have preferred Fonua and Noffa to give us a good start to our sets from inside our own half.

I'm not sold on Benji coming off the bench. What will it add to the team? Moving players into different positions in games disrupts cohesion during the match IMHO.

Anyway. It is what it is and can't wait for the footy to start again!

He played the entire 2nd 40 on the right edge and was the only guy who looked like making a break. It was his offload that gave us the Thompson no try, which was our best bit of play in the entire game.

I thought he had a really good end to 2017 when he finally got an extended run at playing on the edge. Guys never been a center and it stalled his career having to play there.

Of course he is! All the talk of depth and competition for spots doesn't appear to apply to Lawrence and Brooks- they seemed to be guaranteed a spot in the run on side no matter what.

That's 5 Coaches now that have picked Lawrence whenever he is fit…has never came back through RG ...

I wonder why too...Maybe they all have No Idea...
