WESTS Tigers Team V Souths

We have 1 very experienced fit out of form hooker ( Farah ), 1 makeshift hooker who doesn't offer a lot anymore (Halatau) and 2 inexperienced youngsters who really aren't up to !st grade standard ( Cherrington and Liddle)
Who do you pick? It really is a no brainer isn't it?

Cameron Smith ??

I don't know why I bother checking the team every Tuesday expecting to see anything different

Perhaps because only two weeks ago it was different?

Aside from Littlejohn potentially giving the recently re-signed Brooks a spell, it doesn't seem like anyone in reggies has killed it in their previous two losses or over the course of the season. Chee-Kam and JAC have been given call ups.

kev shouldn't be in the team. i wanna say noffa shouldn't either but we need to separate those 2 to see who's at fault.

We leak points through our right edge week after week and nothing has been done to address it In regards to team selection. Besides JAC getting promoted and Sironen getting dropped a couple of weeks ago tell me what has changed in regards to under performers not being held accountable.

So MCK as 18th man, do we know if someone is under an injury cloud or can we expect the possibility of Naiqama being replaced.

Given recent run with injuries during warm ups the 18th man is a big show of getting a run

Some Forum member's comments make me laugh.

Based on their comments JAC, Halatua and Farah should not play for the NRL side again this year due to them signing elsewhere, retiring or moving on.

You have to pick your best 17 available and forget 2017.

Given how weak our right hand defence is, maybe MCK should trip Naiqama over during the warm up and then be elevated to starting centre. (lol).

Naiqama and Noffo have to be on the game plan of every opposition coach. Free tries available by running down the right side.

No wonder why we do not win many games with underperformers constantly rewarded with NRL spots.

Love to give Chance Peni a try in the top grade and let the other two learn how to tackle in State Cup indefinitely.

According to yesterday's SMH, Robbie is not going anywhere next year.

Who was the author out of curiosity …?

Funny, that was my immediate thought.

…....This might sound crazy but has anyone thought of trying Teddy in the centres? He's a champion fullback but.....he can tackle, has footwork and a fend. I thought Rankin went all right at the back and he has ball skills that could be utilised.....Ok, howl me down, ha ha!

Why not just try Rankin at centre?

Dont mind the team, not going to roast JAC over last weeks game with the atrocious conditions, i do however think Kev needs some time in reggies to work on his faults. MCK to centre for mine shore up that edge and Robbie has to start Halatau at hooker just does not work. Bringing Felise on slowly im ok with give him a taste and make him hungry, his time will come.

NSW hooker Robbie Farah is set to be recalled for Wests Tigers' match against South Sydney on Friday night but the playing future of fellow rake Matt Ballin is in doubt after being told he may require another knee reconstruction

Tigers coach Jason Taylor's refusal to guarantee Taylor's selection after Sunday's defeat by a Sydney Roosters team missing Cordner and Mitchell Pearce sparked speculation that the off-season feud between the pair had been reignited, but Fairfax Media has been told that is not the case.

Farah, who had missed the Tigers' previous two matches due to concussion and his Origin commitments, was rested against the Roosters after playing 80 minutes in heavy conditions against the Maroons last Wednesday night.

Taylor stuck with his decision after Ballin succumbed to a knee injury on the eve of the match against the Roosters that now threatens to end his career, with a decision on whether he needs a second knee reconstruction in less than a year expected to made later this week.

Ballin ruptured his ACL playing for Manly in last year's round 24 match against Parramatta and only resumed playing for the Tigers last month.

In Ballin's absence, New Zealand internationals Elijah Taylor and Dene Halatau shared the dummy half duties against the Roosters.

With the game played in torrential rain and Farah having made 53 tackles in the Origin opener, Taylor still believed it was in his best interests to have the weekend off and sources close to the 31-year-old say he had no problem with the decision.

However, he is expected to be named on Tuesday in the Tigers side for the match against the Rabbitohs, who are coming off a 29-28 loss to Gold Coast in Perth on Sunday night.

Farah also intends to continue playing for the joint venture club next season. This is despite interest from Leeds and other Super League clubs.

The NSW vice-captain is a certain selection for the Blues side in Origin II, which may now be named next Tuesday due to the fact St George Illawarra play Canterbury and Cronulla host North Queensland in matches on Monday.

Sydney Roosters secondrower Boyd Cordner has already been ruled out of the NSW team after suffering a broken toe and torn ligaments in his foot during Origin I in which he was voted the Blues best player by team-mates.

Cordner may have played his last game of the season as Channel Nine reported that there were fears he needs surgery that would sideline him for up to 12 months.

A decision will be made in four weeks, with surgery likely if the injury hasn't improved.

Meanwhile, Manly halfback Daly Cherry-Evans has been ruled out for a month with an ankle injury sustained in last Friday night's 30-18 loss to Canberra. Captain Jamie Lyon will miss the next two weeks with an ankle injury, while the club is also nervously awaiting scans on prop Brenton Lawrence who suffered a pectoral injury in the nation's capital and could be out for the rest of the year.

If he is confirmed as having ruptured his pectoral muscle, it could spell the end of his season, with the injury usually taking around three months to heal.

Lawrence has been hampered by a horror back injury over the last two years which has limited his time on the park.

Former New Zealand Test representative Matai has also been ruled out indefinitely with a neck injury which kept him from taking the field in the side's 30-18 NRL defeat against Canberra on Sunday.

It's a cruel blow for the Sea Eagles who are under a mountain of pressure after the emergence of match-fixing allegations on the back of four straight losses, which have led to them slumping to 13th on the NRL ladder.

To make matters worse, the club's North Narrabeen training facility has flooded, an inconvenience which threatens to disrupt their preparations for Sunday's emotion-charged clash with Penrith Panthers.

Hate to be negative …........ I am having bad premonitions about Sam Burgess and company rolling through our pack and GI running back into form against us. As I always say... in the end it's about how much a team wants it and what each player is prepared to do to get that win. I can see the bunnies wanting it more than us and being ready to work harder for it this week.
On the point - I agree with MCK to centre and Kev to ISC (there's a hint that this might happen). Maybe JJF looks a better option than Grant as well at the moment but it could be that TG hasn't been 100% for a few weeks as he seemed to have more aggression in his game earlier in the season.

JJ Felise is still a young bloke and playing him continually in NRL this early in his career may end up being a bad thing for his overall development. The front row in the NRL is very tough and JJ is still developing, so I think we should be bringing him along gradually. Next year after another pre season he'll be ready to play more NRL.

I can see the Tiges taking a relaxed attitude into the game thinking 'we already beat them once this year - that's good enough'

Hope I'm wrong
