What do you expect, the coach is out of his depth, Rankin at 5, and probably at 9 sometime during the game, what a deadest master coach we have. :bash

What are you thoughts now i wonder…..

Coach is still out of his depth, I have seen enough of him to form that opinion

Agree. Anyone know why JJ Felise is not in the 17? I would have thought he offers a lot more to the side than Lawrence does.

No idea but if and when he does come in it's unlikely to be at the expense of Lawrence. MCK and Edwards will be the ones he is likely to displace but at this stage MCK is useful as coverage at centre (where Idris may struggle to play 80) and with Edwards I guess the coach is opting for experience and impact in defence. Not what I would have done but I haven't seen these guys train, I don't know the game plan and I'm not an NRL coach.

Guess we'll find out this year.

JT must surely have realised the pathetic team selections that went on last year will have him out the door quick smart, so he may have learnt something from last year after all.

I think you'll find Rankin being named on the wing was a ploy, something a couple of us called on Tuesday. Taylor didn't suddenly have a change of heart last night, he knew what he was doing. Barring injuries, Rankin dropping out of the squad is a solid indication he won't see much first grade this year.

Wet pitch, Rankin off the bench to play 9 might not be a silly idea. Some of the big forwards getting bogged and a little bloke with some zip catches them out. I know last year when he did go into no9 he certainly added some zip

Rankin and zip is an oxymoron

My mistake did not realise Rankin had be omitted from the 17.

Yeah SC only Littlejohn or Hunt can force there way into the 17…given the track Littlejohn to replace Edwards might be worth a look..

Wouldn't surprise if Chee-Kam starts ahead of Idris either..

Word is that Idris won't play 80\. It would make sense for him to come off the bench when the heat is out of the game as opposed to going off after 60 minutes with the game potentially in the balance. MCK could fill in in the centres, then move into the back row and Idris could come on for Sue. And fingers JLJ comes onto the bench. Can't afford stuffing ET around, he's too valuable at 13.

I don't know how wet it is of course , but I would of thought you'd keep Edwards in these conditions

We he hits in defence is going to punch some balls loose in defence and create turnovers , especially on Sam Burgess

I think he may have had surgery on his shoulder in the off-season. Can anyone confirm that? If so that explains why he has been off the radar a little lately as (I agree) he was impressive last year & deserves his spot in the 17.

Smart move, I think Idris will struggle to get the 80 whereas Chee-Kam can always slot into the backroow later in the game if required.

I totally agree, Idris can be used as shock weapon from the bench. This also takes the pressure of Idris to perform straight out the box. Really looking forward to this
