What’s the anti Garner -centres sentiment about ? Have we not noticed our edges are solidified defensively?
The attack is meh , but centres being strike weapons and where your best athlete plays is a thing of the past . If you can’t have a Talakai battering ram , or a fullback playing centres like lomax or Manu , then a bloke who can tackle is the best option .

Great post. The issue is not Garner, it is the lack of genuine pace on the wings. Garner is fine as a centre, he defends well, can hit a gap and runs the ball hard and can pop a ball.

Didn’t he lose 10kg at the start of the season?
Supposedly, he didn't look that trim at the start of the season though, so he must have some kilos on before he got tapped on the shoulder, if anything it looks like he's put it on.

Gildart still finding his feet in NRL.

He is a competitor, willing to take the opposition on abd very good in support from what i have observed.

Look at most of the longer range trys and u will see him in support.

Thats the right attitude.
I agree. I don't think people are knocking his attitude, well they shouldn't, I think he got lost a few times which is understandable.

Stop gap fullback and stop gap centre will make Sundays outing a very hard game to win. Not so worried about the defence, but our attack will struggle. Dragons have a very solid backline.
Lets hope the Chooks game took its toll

To'a and Garner are both pretty good but I agree with you. We look like specials to lose. Hastings and Brooks have to lead us to an upset win but we are down on troops.

Also have to be worried about Hunt bombing the crap out of us, we are going to struggle under the high ball and St.George would be crazy not to go there.

That will be the plan for sure. The solution to that is field position, good hustling D that keeps the chases as far back as possible and get numbers back to surround the ball.

You do realise To’a got two try assists against the Bunnies last week, 1 of which at Fullback. Gildart makes that centre pass to Mamalo just as easy.
My concern is defence not attack with the replacement players.

A good team game plan/centre will make him look silly eventually. He’s only had 2 games there.
