Feel for MCK. The hooker dilemma has likely cost him a spot.

He obviously didn't show much in trials or train that well i assume. Could still be smoke and mirrors but I doubt it

Most likely comes onto the bench anyway if Garner is ruled out

I wanted MCK to play but I know Lawrence will have a solid game he’s one of my favourite every players. Would love to see him run those good lines he always does and bag himself a try, in 2018 he killed it at second row

I would assume ET is there for his defence and work rate as you know what you get from him.. He gives some penalties away but most are very smart ones when the team needs a break.

Shame MCK misses out as he seems to cover a few positions and comes up with the right plays at end of games. If CL doesn't perform I see hi dropping off for him.

Overall I will go with what coach comes up with as he made a lot of very good decisions sense coming here and deserves credit..

Looking forward to Sunday..

I think early season games are won on a very simple game plan and he's picked the best team to do that. My only concern would be Reynolds coming on and going a bit cray cray

I actually am worried about our go forward in the middle i like the players named but dont feel like we have the grunt. Would prefer a mikalle or a musgrove to start need the venom. But all faith in madge

Has AD played much at Centre?

Maybe they switch later in the game AD FB, CT Wing & RJ to centre?

Wasn't Thommo saying in a recent interview they were experimenting with changing up their roles in defence and attack?

I'm a bit the same.... Their pack (on paper at least) Is impressive and potentially could win the ruck

Not sure about Lawrence in the 17, offers nothing in attack, would have liked MCK who has that X factor about him.

You've missed him running into holes off Brooks I see

No I haven't, they are becoming less frequent due to a couple of reasons imo, Brooks throws a bullet pass which is non catchable, but also Lawrence can't break the line unless there is a gap like the Sydney Heads, great guy, but imo one season too long.

Wouldn't say it helped that he was out for half of last season and then had to get game fit.

You are more than a hard marker.

I remember when the bench was filled with players who didn’t quite make the 13. Now most clubs have very strong benches. Madge possibly thinks he’ll get more impact from those two , testing Dragons fitness? I’m very excited to see how our pack looks against a more experienced Dragons pack, after they outclassed a weaker Warriors pack in the trial.

Aloiai hits the ball up well imo.
Very exciting if at some point we see him, Musgrove, Mikaele on tackles 1, 2 and 3.

I'm also confident Twal and Taylor will control the middle well

Bit disappointed in this side at fullback Thompson is not up to it at this level and Lawrence in the 17 ,in front of mck and yes they give 100% but we can’t be serious along with Jennings in the side really

I don’t pretend to know what the coach is thinking. If we split the roster into two groups? Those who have been reliable without being world beaters. And the newbies who need to show they deserve a shot. If we fire all our shots off in the first 5mins then where do we go? Just thinking about team morale . I think Madge is the sort of coach who want a player to be really chomping at the bit when he eventually runs on?

I was sort of the same but when I read that Thompson has been training for FB all off-season I thought, “ok, let’s see what he brings.”
But when Mbye returns I can’t think of any option other than Doueihi to FB and Thompson to wing

Absolutely agree, Gal, need to keep a lid on things and temper our excitement (if any) for OUR first game this year - is usually a win anyway - as this will benefit the team most. Feeling up against it, hopefully without the referees aiding and abetting this year... we have to play it smart. Start Sunday.

Make your way to the register junior.
This guy is gonna carve up.

Thompson's days at #1 are gonna be limited.

Hope you are right, we bought him to play fullback, that's where he should be playing

The whisper is Matherson Johns and Kane Bradley will be the right edge after round 6 or 7, Doueihi fullback with the Momo - Grant swap a done deal. All three quarters over six foot two and 100 kilos except Nofo.
