"I've got a playing group that really cares about what they're doing"

Sometimes

Maybe

After all the noise and hysteria from the week, I'm totally not ashamed to admit I only wanted to hear more about the coach and management ?
Some of those questions...
It's like a real-life soap opera.

You need to give Madge credit and his experience shows... With all the stuff happening he remains solid and sticks up for the club and players regardless. A lot of coaches would lose it and blame things etc but he remains focused on building from the ground up and we do have some very talented young players in the team.. It will come and also loved how he answered the question about high profile players not coming here.
I know it hurts but imagine when players like Daine L, Simpkins, Stefo, Blore etc get 50 game under there belts..
I can see what Hartigan and Madge are trying to build.

I agree, Madge is building the club for long term success. It is hard to watch that the FG side are not doing well but the lower grades going awesome. Also there are a lot of new players this year and a lot of guys in KOE pushing for first grade. I am still optimistic something clicks n the Tigers go on a run where they at least win 3 to 4 games in a row which they have not done in years

I'm confused. Hadn't Cini already made his debut last season against the Rabbits, I believe? Or am I losing my head once again?

Congrats Cini rip in! If those metre eating/post contact stats transition well into first grade the spot will be yours to lose.

So does this mean Laurie is expected to play? Good outcome if so.

That backline reminds me of the flystrip curtains they used to have in shops. look solid but so easy to get through.

Wests Tigers outside back Zac Cini will become the 243rd player to play first-grade for the club after he was named to make his NRL debut in Sunday's Round 8 clash against the Dragons.

Initially named outside of the club's 21-man squad, Cini has been called into the side in place of James Roberts and will start on the wing for this week's game.

A Minchinbury Jets junior, Cini joined Wests Tigers in 2019 from the Penrith Panthers and quickly started to turn heads at the club — promoted to the Development squad in his first season prior to the June 30 deadline.

With Australian Schoolboy experience already in his young career, Cini featured as a Development Player again in 2020 — playing just one game due to the COVID-19 pandemic — before transitioning to the full-time squad this year.

Having featured primarily as a centre or winger throughout his career, the 20-year-old transitioned to fullback in 2021 and has so far revelled in the switch.

Cini's good form at the back has played a key role in the club's Knock-On Effect NSW Cup side, Western Suburbs Magpies, who sit second on the ladder heading into Round 8. He has played every game, while also accounting for 198 running metres and over five tackle breaks per game so far this season.

Cini's first-grade debut certainly comes as a reward for his good form throughout the year so far — officially set to become Wests Tigers Player #243 on Sunday.

Wests Tigers will provide an updated 19-man team list at 4:05pm on Saturday.

Match: Dragons v Wests Tigers
ROUND 8 - SUNDAY 2ND MAY

So BJ's thumb isn't broken .......wow ...thats a painful injury not to have ......he won't even be able to hand grab if it is injured

It was a sprain Dr...

Looking forward to see how Zac goes

BJ doesn't need a reason not to tackle ...ditto with Cini ...worried about his D though

I was watching Bradman Best tonight and every time he had the ball he looked dangerous and Rooster clearly had a plan to shut him down otherwise he would destroy teams.. Now I think Joey should be doing the same as him or better due to his experience but I just feel Joey seem a bit lazy. How often do you see Joey running onto the ball as he prefers to stand there and run once he gets it but for me he needs to work harder and makes the runs even if he doesn't get it. I cannot understand how he just doesn't want to destroy his opposition players as when he is on is one of the hardest players to stop.. (We should know as he has killed us over the years) .. Someone needs to show him video clips of him 3 years ago and get him the ball.. For a guy trying to get another contract he is just not working hard enough for me.

the only team in our establishment at the moment that doesnt understand about having a firecracker put up them is 1st grade

Weird feeling, the rumours are about Laurie could be true, which means there’s a chance Mck will play in the centre’s with cini to fullback. Hope not btw. Would rather cini to the wing.

I’d say Mbye to fullback

I reckon bj is infor a cracker. He looked keen before koing himself last game.

I agree, I’ve put $200 on the Tigers to beat the Dragons today @ $3.50 based on Joey’s renewed enthusiasm in reserves - if he is swapped out for the laughing hyena (Chee Kam) I’ll be pissed off!
