Yep everyone is doing the “you’re not breaking up with me I’m breaking up with you “ thing . He will be very hard to replace . But for the first time ever I think we actually do have the cattle in the system to give it a good shake .

I can’t agree with him that Bula didn’t deserve criticism for a bad night at the office and is irreplaceable.
I probably sound like a broken down record, but if Bula doesn’t want to extend with us, I reckon Jaxon Purdue would sign with us tomorrow for 2027 and beyond on the same contract value.
I can’t agree with him that Jock Madden has not proven himself at NRL level as he played a few quality games for the Broncos and is every bit as good as player such as Toby Sexton who has proven he can lead a team to the top of the competition ladder.
In saying that I’m happy with Doueihi as our first choice 7 and I’m happy for him to be a ball hog with a run first mentality. When Doueihi’s running game is on song he’s extremely hard for any opponent to handle.
I also don’t agree that Tristan Hope has gone backwards , he’s now whacking opponents when defending and strengthens our defence when he’s on the field.

went on about Sione and To'a missing X amount of tackles when I thought both actually did well defensively for the most part. They find a missed tackle for absolutely anything

Controversy Corner - Most Under Pressure Steve nailed it.
I’m highly confident we will see a much better version of Jerome this season playing 5/8 without the responsibility of running the team, but as Steve said we need him to live up to his price tag on the field as well as off it.
If we see Jerome, Jahream and our right centre whether that be To’a or someone else all play close to their best, we will have a hugely successful season.
I agree Makasini has to stay on the left, if we need he and Taylan in the centres, Taylan will need to be the one who switches to the right.
Samuela Fainu and KPP will also play a big part in determining our success as they can be anywhere from 5 out of 10 if they just go through the motions, to 9 out of 10 if they rip in and play with high intensity.
I generally agree with most of Rob’s views, but I don’t agree with his doubt about our middles and middle depth. I know last season and past history says we always struggle in the middle, but I’m highly confident we now have a combination of middles including the 2 Alex’s, Charlie Murray etc who are now in the sweet spot ready to show career best form.
I can’t believe so many people are writing off Tristan Hope. I think his physicality and energy has gone up a notch since last season and he will be ready to rip whenever called upon.

Imo its Bula. Luai will never get panned if he never gets us to finals, people will just say its the Tigers, you cant put lipstick on a pig etc, etc. Luai wouldnt be blamed if we dont have success with him as the Tigers have been seen in the last decade to be a basket case before he arrived.
Bula is under the most pressure imo this year. Last year he was ok in attack and his positional play and D needed lots of work, he didnt end his season on the best note in terms of form. He is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal, people in the game already say hes over paid and not worth the 900k price tag. Couple that with Attard who can fill in for him at fullback, Bula is under immense pressure to perform imo. I think he will step up and show his quality. But i really think this is the season that Bula needs to step up.
