Only covers the HBG statement but does include a new quote from Darcy Byrne at the bottom.

A debenture holder meeting is scheduled for next month.

Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne described the statement as “very confusing”.

“How can they issue an update about the crisis without even mentioning the fact that half the Board has just been expelled,” Byrne said. “There is a growing realisation amongst club members that this chaos can’t go on any longer and something must be done.

“The idea that 18 people can continue to have complete control over a club membership of 27,000 is just plain wrong.”

Love it. , well done , they make out their elected by the 27,000 members , what they didn’t say was we are elected by 18 people and the rest can boot off , Rick Wade needs to come out now and update where they are actually up to with the implementations , also they forgot to say we are being investigated by liquor and gaming , the review of the review isn’t done m and we are stopping anyone and everyone who applies for a spot on Wests Tigers board so we can jump back on and get free food , wine and beers plus our big heads in corporate boxes , they also stated again they are the main financial backer but it’s wrong the nrl put in over 13.5 million ,
Penfold Grange used to be a big thing , not sure if they are still hoarding that.

Darcy nailed it there.

The statement was made to distract and deflect. There are still major and ongoing concerns about the unfairness of the debenture system.

There’s also no member elected board members now the only two on the HBG board have been suspended.

Never was a big fan of Darcey but on this issue he is spot on, as long as the people in the system are allowed to stay on, in the system as it is, nothing will ever change. They put the statement out, yet Crawford and Barnier were supposed to do a follow up review / report 12 months after the initial one to look at how much of the initial review has been followed. It's been over 12 months now and I doubt they will get that chance to do the follow up review.
It doesn't take 12 months to do a follow up review or get 4 independant qualified people into a boardroom. I'm of the belief that it doesn't matter what people say but their actions that are all that count. This mob have done sweet bugger all apart from talk.

Its not even 18. The other 16 or 15 love the money. Their seat. The power they feel. Probably not even Wests Tigers fans. Just fam.

As we approach 1300 petition signatures we are heartened by the support from Wests Tigers fans for the review into the governance of the Holman Barnes Group (HBG).

As we read last night, reports suggest Liquor and Gaming NSW has already actioned a probe into the governance of the HBG.

We believe the inquiry will confirm what appears the vast majority of Wests Tigers fans believe, and that is that a very small pool of non-elected debenture holders are wielding a disproportionately large amount of control over the management and governance of our club, Wests Tigers.

We will be continuing the campaign for change regardless of today’s statement from the HBG and will be replying in no uncertain terms tomorrow. The petition continues, and it will be submitted to the authority and minister as previously outlined.

Again, this is in no way an attack on the heritage or identity of the foundation clubs, this is about OUR club, Wests Tigers.

Here are some recent comments from those who have signed the petition:

I'm signing because I've been a member for over 10 years (as are my entire family). We have been fans for a lot longer and FINALLY we are starting to see some much needed change to the club after years of mismanagement and self interest! To see it come undone at a Board level is disgusting. I had faith that the review would bring further change addressing some internal issues and bad governance and yet again we find ourselves to be the laughing stock of the competition. It's so disheartening how the brand is being trashed in the media, making it very hard to be a proud member when all this infighting is going on. - Kylie

I have no trust in the governance of the Holman Barnes Group to effectively run the Wests Tigers. - Timothy

I want the Wests Tigers to adopt the review and allow us fans to move forward with the club we love. - Phil

I'm sigining and asking friends to sign because I am sick of egos being put before a club which means so much to so many. I was shocked to hear that debentures of such a low amount provide the power to run a club of this maginitude, let alone a professional sports team. - Jack

They are killing us. We need them gone. I hope the files won't be released 50 years later. I hope this is not another Warren Commission.
