No one is advocating for Balmain to come back. You and a few other hypocrites just love to moan about some perceived bias against the Magpies. Everyone wants to respect the past and move on!

Can you please elaborate ? Because I’ve been accused of this being a Balmain tigers Trojan horse, which couldn’t be further from the truth .

Also I’m pretty sure Hewarth are overseeing the development. They had a DA approved for a 12-story mixed use development but had delayed the development.
 
Just re the constant accusations of Balmain bias, I was a 6 year old when I went to my first game (I believe I had been an Eel or Canterbury fan before, vague memories of a bulldogs football at home - being too young to know the difference) and Balmain won. It wasn’t until late 1988 that I went to another game with my father (first time at Leichhardt) and started collecting the footy cards etc. So, my Balmain years are maybe 10 years. I voted for the merger, was there for the first trial and the first game and have been just as rusted on as I ever was with Balmain, in fact, maybe more as I feel a fatherly kind of love the Wests Tigers. This is evident in the hundreds of hours I give each year planning, recording, producing and posting the podcast, as well managing our website/facebook etc etc.

In the 25 years that I’ve been a Wests Tiger I’ve been married, divorced, married again, raised two kids, helped with the final years of fathering two step children who lost their dad to a heart attack, travelled almost around the world, had surgery and health issues and had a couple of career changes.

Wests Tigers is a big, big part of my life and while I have fond memories (and really painful ones too) of Balmain, the club in my my mind has passed away and I just want us all to have something we can share in being immensely proud of and a club that will outlive all of us.

Well put Joel. We all have a Rugby League supporters history, and we all have a story to tell. Our collective wish is at the end of the day we are all doing the same dance and singing the same Wests Tigers tune. Due to efforts and time investment such as yours we, as supporters can now see some light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks mate.
 
Yep there are a few on here that seem to think any shot at HBG is because we must have been Balmain supporters.

I’m an old Magpies supporter but all I want is the very best for my team of the last 25 years which is Wests Tigers.

Let’s get on with 25 and stop baiting people on the Balmain V Wests thing. It’s very stale.

Feel free to troll away if you like but I’ve said my piece.

The posters on here talking from a Wests Magpies pov, about 6, wouldn't have to work as hard as we all do to get our point across.

And just because the 6 don't take a knee to the 90% majority, doesn't mean we are trying to turn this into a Wests Magpies V Balmain Tigers thing.

With the above % % being what they are and the six being obviously heavily outnumbered, I might just go onto the Wests Magpies sites to see if I can rustle up a few more to put in an appearance here so the 6 can become The Magnificent 7....or.... The Great Eight 😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣.

You’ve turned this into a Wests Magpies v Wests Tigers thing. Which as you point out is really only you and a few of your mates. So I’m begging to think that in reality you’re actually a Balmain Tigers die hard trying to tarnish the magpies legacy. Even your name seems to reflect your true allegiance B…….N! 🙃

Ok, since you have said you feel it's time to break up with our toxic parents, being mainly Magpies of course, how about you start the ball rolling and show us how it's done by you taking all your old Balmain followers out into the real world to start a new life for yourself somewhere else?

A poster on here recently said if you keep on attacking Wests Magpies/HBG instead of working on a way to work harmoniously with them, they'll just get their backs up and fight back as energetically as you are fighting them, which gets us nowhere.
I would have had a much more relaxed and positive outlook on WTF if I hadn't met with so much resistance on here a long time ago for speaking from a Wests Magpies pov., and that was mainly from one person, but there were others and that has continued rite through till now.
But others have been attacked, and they don't come back. So for me personally this is mostly NOT a MAGPIE FRIENDLY FORUM I crit G Barnier

Yeah, this is what worried me about the initial process of the petition........not the idea of it but the process............it would be seen as an attack on the ownership group which at least in so far as club unity with the other partner is concerned has done nothing other than been benevolent.

This latest petition is worse I'm afraid...........and again not so much in the general idea of a separation of hands on control from HBG to the football club, but rather as a process it seeks to hopefully build pressure to achieve its aims by basically hoping and praying somehow Liquor and Gaming creates issues for the group in order to facilitate the unites movement aims.

Most unattached people would see it as a spiteful attack, there is no doubt. Casual readers drop in and can see the personal attacks against myself and others and the continual denigration of HBG . Had a guy the other day, a dog's supporter tell me he dropped into forum to see what is going on and remarked to me why I waste my time in a Balmain forum. It's obvious.

The truth is Liquor and Gaming began their investigation 10 days or so prior to petition being convened........on the prompting of the 3 suspended directors.......nothing else. Can't say for sure but WA run a tight ship and it's unlikely anything more will come of it ........perhaps some downgrading of suspension. HBG sought lawyers for their investigation who later appointed independent experts in their field regarding that case, very very thorough...........touchy subject.

So even if the petition garnered 100k signatures HBG doesn't have to act so the basic premise of the petition is a form of pressure and hope HBG is tarnished and damaged by Liquor and Gaming.........so it is seen by HBG as spiteful and by former Wests fans as an attack on us by our partners........especially in light of the feeble bid Balmain is entertaining, but treachery non the less.

If any changes to the HBG debenture system or consttitution are decided they will be decided by us following consultation with our general members and later social members as per the constitution Even if any changes are decided new safeguards will be erected to protect the clubs ideals, as all clubs do.

Can't say to much but HBG agreed the review but certain events happened to interfere with its implementation. It was always intended to follow through on them however Danny's leaked email last year, Shane interfering and virtually confirming Barry's appointment as chairman as well as other unfortunate events as described previously delayed the process and meant new safeguards had to be enacted to protect the owners interest and make sure the independents are truly such including from Shane and other members. Nothing is happening from pressure.........HBG needs to appoint 3 directors and this is happening. Even if HBG wanted to appoint directors from the inside following the suspensions and changes no suitable sporting administration people are available.

The petition is just noise and division as is the Kea bid.

Obviously given recent events there will be adjustments ..........they must be so following what has and is transpiring. However the WT board will be independent because the owners decided on such a long time ago but measures have been taken to protect the exchequer and protect the owners interests from collusion from new directors and other parties within and external to the parties.

Wow. You really are delusional. Joel wrote a post speaking directly about focusing on Wests Tigers and not the foundation clubs but you only read Magpies. If this place is so bad, go to the Magpie forums ( that you spoke about recruiting people to bring back and help you here) and just stay there. You are not providing any polite debate, you are just harrassing other members then acting like the victim.
