So if he played in his preferred position he would magically then be able to catch, tackle and pass like a first grader? Got it.

I was referring to the read.

His overall game is much better at centre, and he's a kid still adapting to first grade. He's not an issue, and he's a prospect. If we had reserve grade he could do with time there, but Talau has done very well out of position in a tough season.
