Wests v Wentworthville - Big Day at Campbelltown

3 grades of Rugby League will be played in the "Battle for the West" this Saturday night at your home ground, Campbelltown Stadium.

Gates open at 2:45pm followed at 3pm by the NSW Cup clash between the Western Suburbs Magpies and Wentworthville. Here you will see many of our local fringe players playing their hearts out trying to make it through to the Wests Tigers and Parramatta's top grade.

Following the NSW Cup, the National Youth Competition will take the field at 5:15pm. Here our Wests Tigers Under 20's will clash with the Penrith Panthers. Wests Tigers are currently in equal 8th place on the table with three other teams so will need to win if they want to keep in touch for the race to the finals.

Finally the main game in this battle for the West, the NRL clash between Wests Tigers and Penrith Panthers will kickoff at 7:30pm.

Wests Tigers second-rower Liam Fulton will play his 100th career/club game when he takes the field.
Fulton made his NRL debut against the Warriors at Ericsson Stadium in round 26 of the 2003 season. The junior Western Suburbs Magpie, City Origin and 2005 premiership winning back-rower has scored 25 tries for the club in his 99 appearances.

As part of the pre-match entertainment, between 7-7:30pm, a 100 metre relay race involving Tradies teams of six competitors dressed in their “tradie uniforms’ will be held with the winning team receiving prizes from our Match Day sponsor and Wests Tigers.

Western Suburbs Magpies and Wests Tigers merchandise will also be on sale at the ground.

So come and show your support for our stadium, and show the powers to be we deserve more games at Campbelltown. It will be a great evening of footy!

Has anyone heard anymore about the two Wenty boys that failed drugs test Tom Humble and can't remember the other players name . Humble looked the goods a few years ago in Qld cup .

Western Suburbs Magpies Vs Wentworthville Magpies

**Summary**:
An important clash for both these sides as the bottom placed Western Suburbs Magpies play host to their namesakes in the Wentworthville Magpies. Wests were no match for a rampant Sharks side at Henson Park last weekend while Wentworthville posted their first win since Round Five when they accounted for the Bears at North Sydney Oval last Sunday. Wests welcomed Aaron Sweeney to the club last week but also said goodbye to Michael Stolk who has made the move to the Bundaberg Red Cup this week after signing with Mounties. For Wenty, Chris Walker returns from injury and will slot onto one wing, and this will see last week’s two try hero Troy Savage push into a centre position. It is starting to get to the point now where these are must win games for Wests while for Wentworthville, despite an indifferent start to the year they could unbelievably force their way into the top four by rounds end with a win here and other results going their way.

**Game Breaker**:
Aaron Sweeney – a member of the victorious 2010 NSW Residents side, Sweeney has returned to the NSW Cup after a brief sojourn elsewhere. Sweeney’s size and aggression will add to an already impressive Wests forward pack. After an appearance last week off the bench, expect Sweeney to improve with added game time and match fitness.

Could go either way but I will put my credentials on the line and tip the Magpies!
