Live Game Discussion
Beat it with this rubbish.

The guys a flop and always has been.
Thanks for your opinion.
Here is mine; Doueihi is too fragile to be a forward, too slow to be a back and does he not like to tackle or pass. In an extended run he did not show that he was ready to be in the halves.
All he has are passion and potential, so at the moment he is a very expensive centre.
Hastings had a couple of good games where he looked like he was organising the team, he has had a lot more games where he has tried but could not do anything. He has lost his confidence and is not engaging the line and passing to create space. He also does not have a good kicking game so he is a game manager that doesn't kick at the end of the sets.
I guess we will see what the next coach wants to do with the spine.

It is the simplest things in rugby league that we are not doing. Goes right back to basics:
Move up in one line and take up their space
Tackle with aggression and drive your opponent back and put him on the ground
Get up fast and pay attention at marker
Put pressure on their kicker
Kick to corners and chase the kicks hard
Run as hard as you can with the ball and be very physical in every contest.

Really simple, but our team can not do any of these things. These few basic rules would improve us immensely.
Blame the coach if you like, but truly it’s our players who are 100% responsible for the lack of effort, energy and intent that results in what we are witnessing.

Like most of you I was bitter after yesterday's effort. It was difficult to watch and even more difficult to understand. I made comment during the game about us not getting the U/12's basics right - you know like not letting the ball bounce, passes in front of the receiver, kick to the corners and chase hard etc. So there is definitely some low hanging fruit that we can get after to improve our game immediately.

Nothing went well in attack yesterday, we made error after error; handed the ball over in poor field position from poor kicks. Passes didn't stick because they were too far in front or too far behind the runner or simply too late. We squandered possession and had to tackle our arses off as a result. When we did get the ball it was simply repeating the process with humans that were even more tired. The expended energy, resulted in worse execution, more incomplete sets through dropped ball or penalties which became more defence, equaling less energy and worse attacking options. Tiredness lead to defensive lapses - players simply not getting into position. I expect the disjointed attack and poor options are a symptom of change (or at least trying to).

It is hard to take positives from such a loss; however, looking back I trust that we are seeing the beginning of change. The very poor execution is probably related to the subtle changes Noddy hinted at last week. Changes that are easy on the training paddock but difficult to implement in the heat of battle. After running offensive plays that have been drilled into the side for the last 12 weeks you have to expect it to be clunky at first. Potter had the luxury of a couple of extra games to develop their offense, more depth in his roster and some higher calibre cattle. Should first grade players be able to adapt? Sure but it won't happen overnight. Our players weren't tanking - they will be hurting more than us supporters for sure.

It isn't beers and skittles for us as supporters. I trust that we have just witnessed the lowest point in the season and that the execution we witnessed yesterday was simply the initial signs of impending change. Hope isn't a method - but it's about all we have to hang onto at the moment!

100% correct.....heart and desire wins every time. It is a simple game which we make look hard.

I cant see Laurie ever being the fullback we need either tigerap:
I can magpie, he's young and has just come back from a nasty knee op.
He'll get his pace back and will play better in a better side.
He is a product of that Panthers system that we seem to be targeting.
If CC gets the gig he might just turn this lad into something special.
There are not too many kids in our system that you can say that about atm. We are supposed to be rebuilding. 🤔
So far all he has done is play in a shite team.

He was average before his knee op. It’s only people are starting to notice this year. He’s a bottom 3 fullback.

Where are you Sheens???

Was it worth it ripping the heart out by sacking Madge without his replacement ready to.go????

Moved to early.
Even if he had a replacement ready to go, what was he going to do these last couple of weeks? The season is a lost cause. Least a new coach can come in fresh in the off season not feeling jaded. Plus, he won’t have any daggers from the section of supporters who thought he could have us make a charge into the 8.

We lost AD 2 weeks before the end of the season and Laurie about a month before.
Exactly, Laurie was a loss like I said and we got thumped by dogs, so what exactly are you getting off on this time gunny

All I’m going to do, is ask you how many clubs could he walk into and displace the starting fullback. I’ll bet you struggle to name 2.

Irrelevant point.
He is young and talented and is exactly the type of player that this club is aiming at with a development coach/pathway system.

I have been watching rugby league since 1977.

Most teams at the start of the season plan to make the top four then push for a Grand Final spot then ultimately try to win the comp.

I feel for the last 12 season WT are just making up the numbers, going through the motions and hoping to win enough games to avoid the Wooden Spoon.

I love watching a proper game of NRL seeing both team complete and show case their skills and hopefully an entertaining 80 mins with the game going down to the wire. My ultimate NRL viewing pleasure.

When I watch my team WT play I just hope they put in, show some improvement and don't lose by too much. Not really much to ask from Professional and well paid players.

WT players seem to me to be going through the motion and can't even do the basics right.

I feel sorry for the 2 quality players joining WT in 2023 as it appears it will kill their careers.

Whatever coach comes to WT (and if I was a coach I would look at alternative clubs) good luck as it appears you have to deal with the same players who week after week fail to do the basics.

As most Forum members I am sick of sacking coaches and rooster clean outs as it appears for the last 12 seasons to have little to no effect.

I don't know what the solution is but would love to find 17 players who want to put pride and passion back into the WT jersey.

To me not making the top 4 at the end of the season is a failure so 12 years of failures. I see no difference really finishing 9th place to Wooden Spoon still a failed season.

Like many one day hope to see a Second Grand Final win to go with 2005 trophy but then again I also believe in Unicorns. (LOL).

You sound like the majority on here bro.
I might appear to be putting my life into the tigers because of my passion on the forum but that's far from the truth.
We have to have other stuff in our lives that fill the void of losing, it's a pretty big whole I must admit but I still can face mondays without being too depressed about the tiges.
I just enjoy the wins when we get them and move on when we don't.
Really, as a supporter there's nothing we say or do that's going to change things hey.
