I’m not a fan of the one, long continuous thread. Pages make it much easier to follow. The quote function is frustrating. I know someone will say “ just do XYZ”, it doesn’t matter. It’s less convenient than the old system when you didn’t have to do anything.

Clicking on a thread and ending up randomly in the middle of it, then you gotta click on this and that to get down to the bottom. I know everyone is different, but for me, navigating this is much more difficult.

I find the new quoting to be much easier as you can isolate a specific point to respond to.

I am yet to have this happen, every time I click a thread it takes me straight to the 1st unread post. I would find that frustrating though.
 
Just another point. I totally get that this version may be easier to navigate than the old one, but was changing the entire layout necessary to do that? I could understand tweeks like ones done in the past, but I don’t understand the whole new layout.
 
Idk what you mean re the quoting. The old version you could highlight specific parts of quotes. Can’t get much easier than that.

All you do now is highlight the text you want to quote and hit quote, can't get much easier than that.

Not to quote text..if you click reply to the post it doesn't quote the post in the reply..that is the differentiation…

There is a users guide pinned in this forum which people may find helps..takes about 3mins to read

Yes you hit reply to post at the end which was the old submit button..

lol it does ..haha…didn't before when the issue was 1st brought up...you still need to highlight the text you want to quote

So I’ve just updated my iPad to the new iOS 12.2 and have noticed my profile icon is missing in the top right corner plus some forum members icons are also missing. Prior to this update I’ve had no issue with the new Forum what’s so ever…

Icons have been missing on and off all day

Thanks! Cochise, all icons have returned after restarting iPad a couple of times, the little blighters….

mine are still dropping in and out on the pc I'm using.
 
Mac computer, Google Chrome. Profile pictures still not showing.
Having the same issue using Google Chrome on my iPad
They do show on my phone (S10+) - also using Chrome.

Highlighting the text is a complete pita, especially when this site is so clunky, you have no idea how many times I attempted to highlight the text above and how long it took to post this due to the text box being so laggy.

If the site was smooth and easy to navigate etc I wouldn't be here whinging about how annoying it is, im sorry but it's awful imo.
 
On the iPad the page encounters a problem and has to reload.. happens pretty much every thread I open. Works fine on the desktop though.
