What can we do to help?

If we could chip in $5.00 a week (Forum members) , it's worth a coffee a week and we could seriously help our Club in some form .
I love the idea but i don't think this would work for some reason , when it comes to the crunch nothing will eventuate.

Larry I'm in  , so is Underdog haven't checked with him but his in  .

I live 25 minutes from you Larry and would be more than happy to do such thing as a get together .

I can open a Bank account as the Wests Tigers Forum and i will kick it off with $100.00 and will add the contributions from Forum Members with receipts and any interest earned and post it on here with balances of how much is in the Kitty . Then we can have a Poll where the money should go to benefit the Club.
Don't know trying to come up with something

What he said.

Keebra Park High School is also within my core area as Real Estate Agent.

Hmm… *Thinking Cap goes on*

Do u need to do a desktop survey of who are wt supporters, where they live and whether they would be active. I like the regional slant bc those in sydney are well marketed to but there are heaps of loyal supporters everywhere where it is costly for the club to market to and that's where maybe regional committees can work

Ok, so I have been thinking about this. I would like to establish a wests tigers supporter group on the north coast of nsw/south east qld.

Firstly we need to understand how many forum members are in the area. Secondly form an organising committee, where we can look at strategies to engage the wider tigers supporter base in the region( forum members I reckon would be less than 2-3% of supporters in the area). Maybe the club has identified the size of its support base up here….doubt they would have much idea. We hold fun raisers at games or make small regular investments to build a nest egg that will grow.

We can get together and watch games, hav fun, meet new people and create new networks with the aim of doing something substantial to help the club (by substantial I mean something like helping the club put on a person specialising in mobilising our regional supporter base). My family has been passionately supporting wt for 59yrs and because we live in the country nobody has ever asked us to support( we are one members but membership packages for country members are pitiful). The club needs to work harder in this as I see it as an untapped resource.

We can ask the club to supply some signed merchandise to raffle at our events.

We should aim to hav our first get together before the brisbane or titans game. I Most normally make a weekend if thus so a Friday night get together and a lunch or something before the game. We could get a few ex legends living in the coast(Larry corowa lives in murwhullibah) to attend and I'm sure the club would send skando who could use it as an avenue to meet potential sponsors. But it's got to be better than party pies show that we had on the Gold Coast prior to titans game....it's a good start but a little more effort could see something substantial grow from it. Right idea by the club but small thinking and an opportunity missed.

Define northern rivers as say 200kms from tweed heads, although someone from coffs has said they would come up.

Can someone setup a poll to determine interest in joining a regional supporters club on the north coast and secondly those interested in contributing time to the organising committee.

Can we rope Happy and TigerWatto in (they are Brisbane based?)

Happy is Gladstone way from memory, so it's a bit of a trek down for him.

Not sure where Tiger Watto is.

Might be able to do something Sunday - where are you located Larry? I know FT is down south Tweed(ish) way.

Brunswick heads just 15mins north of Byron Bay, where are you? I am happy to meet halfway….are you in Brissy? Maybe somewhere on the GC

I'm in Goldy Mate - Pacific Pines to be exact.
I don't mind a gold coast meet up - sure we can find a nice little watering hole to celebrate a victory/drown our sorrows - suits me perfectly, just as long as you lads are happy to make the drive up.

I'm easy, get FT to nominate somewhere at Coolie or on the Tweed or nominate somewhere on the GC. We can alternate locations throughout the year, although its only a 30-45min trip to southern part of GC.

This is going to sound harsh against the club, but you should use the cash to fund fan events, given the club won't.

When the Tigers play at the Titans, some of the cash can cover the cost price of the food you provide. If word gets out that big functions are going to be held near away venues (or in rural/regional areas) then soon enough, the Tigers will start getting a large troupe of fans to all their games which would directly benefit the club.

If there are other members who have businesses that could provide something of value to fans like you have, then they can all tip in.

Maybe even go crazy and just have mates rates deals amongst Tigers fans to use each others businesses on the side.

If enough cash is raised, have a fans only gathering at the end of the year somewhere and raffle off some signed items from the club perhaps, try and get a player or two along etc.

Donate some cash to players like Dwyer and Tuiaki etc perhaps.

There are a million of great ideas out there and yours is right up there at the top of the tree.

The potential is there to make it a sustainable concept to get more fans into the game and to get the game closer to the fans and to really get the family vibe at the club strong again.

Yes that is along the lines that I am thinking of. It is hard and expensive for the club to mobilise a regional fan base from Sydney. If we can take some pressure off the club im sure they would be willing to add support in other areas to make the functions worthwhile. Anyway we will thrash around a few ideas and put some options to the fan base and see where things lead.

Larrycorowa,I like your way of thinking,I would have to drive to Sydney then catch a plane to Coolie if I was to meet you guys on any particular weekend,I would have to fly up Sat morning and fly back Sun night because of work commitments …it can be done, however if you guys do start a fund I'm quite happy to kick in some dollars to help...cheers guys best of luck....

Hey UD,I'm up for a swill at the GC,should I bring the Golf clubs with me…speaking of which is Melbas niteclub still going, last time I was there I got absolutely trashed and was lead astray by an absolutely gorgeous GC cutie...missed my tee off time, got fined and had the biggest hangover ever..needless to say it was a thoroughly enjoyable time..(very costly in more ways than one ). :smiling_imp:

TT its more an idea of how we can mobilise the supporter base in our area. There are plenty of club run functions in Sydney and you are best off supporting those.

We just want to help the club by mobilising support in the area for games on the GC and in Brissy. I don't think the club really understands how much support it has in regional areas. If we can't start to have some worthwhile functions and create some local networks we can build support in the area.

BTW I'm a member (and corporate sponsor) at Ocean Shores Golf Club…..its a great course if anyone is up this way I can get you on for a hit.
