What grinds your gears about us?

if they are not going to play at home grounds how are fans going to connect with their local team? Via the pokies. I have never understood about how Aussies follow English soccer teams, they probably don't even follow Aussie soccer teams. It looks stupid on TV seeing about 50,000 empty seats at Homebush with no atmosphere. I get more home atmosphere watching the Byron Bay local team. But of course money talks so…

You've lost me BBF 😱pen_mouth:

We shouldn't follow EPL why ??

By the way , Roar supporter who are currently in first spot , but no I don't support them as much as my EPL team

Why ??

Because I followed West Ham since I was I little tyke , it was my Granddads team

Same way I supported Wests in the NSWRL and Brisbane Wests in the old BRL

What really really does my head in with us is when an opposition forward hits it up into the ruck and we get three blokes onto him, but he wrestles and fights and we struggle to get him on the bloody deck, let alone on his back and facing the wrong way round.
Then the ref calls 'held'… We immediately release and the play the ball has been completed with one of us barely at marker and the other two already behind the next play
Infuriating
:brick:

Yep, happens ALL the time! Almost all of the other teams can tackle properly, not sure why this simple element is so hard for us. I thought the first game this year they were tackling well, putting them down quickly but now they've just reverted back to their old ways. And ball handling, I can't stand the amount of times we've been in good attacking position, or straight after a penalty and we drop it cold.. Such a waste.

Agree with all of these points raised thus far, but another I've just thought of:
We reward mediocrity like no one's business. Whether it's continued selection of non-performing players, or said players getting new contracts, we don't have that killer instinct that you need to succeed at this level. We're forever reliant upon one excuse or another - 'too inexperienced', 'salary cap issues', 'losing to a top 4 team is a good effort'.
The rebuild that eventually started last year was about 3 years too late, and I'm still not convinced we're going about it the right way.

A long term gluten free lifestyle will often do that to your sense of humour.

I'll tell you why…...

Australia has never had a decent soccer League , they've had the NSL and A-League which is equivalent to Division 2 in England . IMO
They have never had real quality players at there peak of there Careers , they've had Alessandro del Piero , Harry Kewell , Brett Emerton , Cullina etc to name a few but they joined the League when they were at least 35 years old and that's where the Australian League loses credibility .
Fans want to see players from Europe playing in this League at there prime , but reality is it will never happen as the money in Europe is far more Superior than here .

I don't follow the A League and find it a boring brand of soccer to watch , it would be awesome to see the Australian League one Day start bringing players at there peak but it will never happen.

Said it before and I'll bring it up again.

Not specifically just Tigers but….

Coach press conferences after the game.

A Billion dollar game and no microphones so people can hear the questions.

NRL couldn't run a chook raffle!!!!!

Its a bit hard to raffle the chooks….if you only have the feathers....

Losing all too often from winning positions
Often giving away penalties in dumb situations
Very small and not an intimidating side
Errors near the try line when making a half break
Timid and soft in defence.
Terrible selections not based on merit.

Did I mention Lovett and Buchanan too as well?

1\. We can only play FG quality football for 30 mins
2\. We have 3 Origin players (Teddy will be playing Origin) but still lack necessary experience to close a game out
3\. Not even showing signs of chasing FG quality players

Terrible ruck defence. Giving teams penalties coming out of their own half. NEVER forcing or even attempting to force repeat sets. Players (mainly hole running backrowers, and fleet footed centres) always playing like the 9th immortal against us. Constantly not making the semis.

One side of the merger bagging the other.
Mates clubs within the team.
Guys that find it harder to get out of the team than getting in.
Blokes that never learn from their mistakes.
Not being secure when in front by anything less than 24 points in the second half.

The fact that we cant get on an even keel with our opponents with the referees. Classic case against Cronulla when Nofa tackled their winger and was in the process of dragging him across the sideline the refs called held so he couldn't be taken out. If tables were turned, I believe it would have been play on.

After opposition scoring a smart captain getting them together under sticks explaining what went wrong and giving instructions on how to prevent (if possible).

JT not having taught them defence structures successfully yet.

but do like how JT at interviews does not do a Farah by saying that the coach can't coach

Mine are:

1\. When bomb goes up against us, our players seem to stop and watch and think, gee I hope he catches it(almost like they are playing cricket). The better teams protect their catcher so much better then us.

2\. Our kicking game. Our long kicks are too short and our short kicks are too long.

Our Defence. We give away too many penalties. Inconsistency. Possibly the Captain.

These things alone are enough to lose games for us.
C'mon Tigers we expect more from you.
