The Bulldogs have won the same number of games we have.

What I want to know is why is Kevin Moore under pressure for being on the fringe of the eight, but Tim Sheens is rewarded with a contract extension?

Why is it a 'results oriented business' only for Moore, not for Sheens?

And for the record, I'm a huge Sheens fan. He turned the club around from a bunch of rabble into a professional, premiership winning joint. But it's very clear now he needs to move on.

Actually, we have one more win then the dogs - they have already had two byes.
And, the dogs have lost 5 of their last 6 games, so their circumstances are different.
And, the dogs are a ruthless club, they demand success and will settle for nothing less. they make changes when that is threatened. (edited to ad: whereas Wests Tigers seem to be more readily willing to accept mediocrity/mild success. Wests Tigers have a bag full of excuses for why each year was not as successful as it would have/should have/could have been. It's part of our culture that we seem to have carried on with from both Wests and Balmain.)
Sheens would have been sacked before the end of the '07 season if he was coaching the dogs.

I would agree with that, although I will probably regret having done so by the end of Friday's game.

Look at the Dog's results since 2008:

2008: last (I think Folkes was coach)
2009: 2nd
2010: 13th
2011: currently 9th

Compared to Wests:

2008: 10th
2009: 9th
2010: 3rd
2011: currently 6th

The Dogs results are erratic in the environment of a salary cap and this season is spiraling. Teams drift to the top for a couple of seasons before dropping off. They have been up and dropped very quickly.

Yes, Sheens has not got us to the finals as many times as maybe we should, but we have always been in the hunt and competitive for every season except his first.

great looking side on paper, but have played like busteds when they need to perform.

Barba looks like the only bulldog happy to be playing footy at the moment.
Idris looks disinterested, Tolman has been spotty with form, Hodkinson shouldn't have left the sea eagles and he probably knows it.

You think our bunch is looking bad? This mob we are playing on friday are playing like busteds and blaming the coach. At least our guys are playing like busteds, and have the respect for Sheens to BLAME THEMSELVES.

Moore has niowhere near the standing Sheens does in the game.
Longevity and experience give a person more breathing space than a newbie.
Sheens is very well respected in the game, highly knowledgeable and has a link in one way or another to just about every single person involved in the game
His results and his selections often confuse…..but with experience comes the ''right'' to ''do it your own way''

The Dogs aren't to be underestimated. I think they are in the same boat as us. They have the class in all positions but between injuries and a collective lull in form they are struggling.

They'll be looking to put us to the sword this weekend, make no mistake about that… They potentially fall out of the top eight if it doesn't happen.
