What if the Magpies were the sole NSw Cup side?

Smeg im a culprit and a few others but im all for west tigers and want our 2nd grade to join up you can see in this topic which side doesnt.

To me its not even about sides.

Its about varying degrees of clinging onto the past. This spans across a element of either side of the WT and not limited to this forum

Respecting history is one thing but wanting to establish a battleground on a field of insignificance just seems like a terrible waste of energy.

Nice post, but sorry, your constant references to "leaving your heartland" and "did nothing for juniors since 1987" are blatantly wrong and show a distinct lack of respect.

Such posts are a hindrance to the discussion and border on trolling.

lol you just trolled then by adding nothing to the topic atleast i did…...wake up you have added nothing and what is it troll your favourite word or something.

Dont give me shit about respect look at the things that have been said about my old club and as usual.

You left your heartlan prove me wrong.

I put list of players to strengthen my statement of wests having a richer junior nusery then balmain. No matter how you break it down, wests come down the frontrunner. Caine senter are not balmain juniors as also mentioned. I make my comments based on information available about wt recruitment sources. Balmain has faced numerous location issues over time. Move to central coast was one option plus a merge with gold coast and easts brisbane (google east coat tigers) plus sydney tigers move to parramatta stadium. Wests have been targeted by former nswrl and arl agendas to be pushed away or out to make way for expansion for extra dollars in the game.

We are still in our original heartland …..thats how it is.

So what? Wests moved from ashfield to campbelltown? Why is that a point in your argument? Balmain tried to do the same thing (who were the Sydney tigers that played out of parra stadium) and it failed miserably. Does it mean anything to wests tigers? No.

This reference to leaving ashfield gives you no leverage in this discussion.

Either does the way the topic has headed and your leading the way as usual.

Gee let tigers go to bathurst and claim all the country players as juniors…..its just not the same.

Since when has anything on this topic been in the best interest of the wests tigers....old balmain fans dont go starting threads like this..so if you cant take it back dont dish it out.

boys, lets concentrate on the topic or something valuable in relation to it…

back and forth bickering about forum members will only result in post being deleted... Take 5 and have a cold beer!

If Wests Magpies NSW Cup side were to get St. George Illawarra and/or Canberra Raiders NRL squad players then Wests Magpies wouldnt really be a feeder club for those NRL clubs because those NRL clubs wouldn't get our players from Wests Magpies NSW Cup team. It just means those other NRL clubs don't have to spend $$ on a NSW Cup team.

And just a quick point, Corey Pearson is a Balmain junior, although I don't see how this furthers either side. Joint state cup is the only way, get with it people! WT to win the NSW Cup in 2012!

I for one believe that this does improve the strength of the joint venture and saying sayonara to ryde eastwood who own a 0% share in this jv.

You are so sour and in denial when it comes to certain facts.

tiger4ever… These Wests Juniors help brought us a premiership in 2005... Dont forget that!

Wests have moved from Ashfield to Lidcombe to Campbelltown to keep up with the demographic change in both the rugby league 'playing' and rugby league 'following' population. Consequently Wests now have a good junior nursery that has provided players in the past (like Jason Taylor) and players to other teams in the NRL (like Israel Falou) and players to Wests Tigers (as mentioned above).

I personally played in the Balmain Junior League myself during the 90's and watched the number of Balmain junior teams shrink year by year and by the end of my stint found myself playing in a combined junior league with the St George Junior League.

That shrinking junior base in Balmain has resulted in much fewer top grade players being delivered for both the Balmain of the mid to late 1990s and Wests Tigers since 2000.

Mate, just saying it, doesnt make it true. Look wests tigers have had 145 different players. I'm only interested in players that hve played more than 50 games for us. Simply becuase im not checking 145 players backgrounds and i dont care if blamian of wests produced some dude that played 2 games in 2003\. Players with more than 50 games are:

Joel Caine- Balmain
Kevin Mcguinness- Wests
Darren Senter- Balmain
Skando- Wests
Mark O'neill- Balmain
Mat Seers- Bought from Bears
Ben Galea- Balmain
Corey Pearson- Balmain
John wilson- From Parra
Laffranchi- NSW country
Heighno- NSW Country
Farah- Balmain
Halatau- NZ
Marshall- NZ
Gibbs- Wests
Fulton- Wests
Collis- Wests
Hodgo- We got him from parra, cant claim juniors you cant keep
Elford- From penrith
Payton- From roosters
Harrison- Balmain
Whaturia- From penrith
Galloway- Sharks
Tuiaki- Rugby union
Lawrence- Wests
Ryan- St G
Morris- From parra
Moltzen- NSW Country
Ellis- England
Ayshford- Roosters

Thats 30 players with more than 50 games. 7 from Balamin, 6 From wests. You cant dispute the facts, meaningful junior representation is similar between both clubs, in team now and in past.

FIND A BETTER ARGUEMENT. and dont you dare bring up Shannon Gallant again hahahahha

This is the most Ridiculous post Ive ever seen 7 from balmain. :roll :roll whe the real number is 1 balmain Robbie farah who was an enfield federal which was wests before.hahaaha

Why didn't you come up with this idea before? Balmain-Bathurst-Ryde-Eastwood Tigers has a good ring to it.

Sorry, but with the thought that Balmain may wish to drop its name from Ryde-Eastood, a previous post of mine provided a break down of the leagues club payments and called for one team in the State Cup funded by Wests Tigers and named the Wests Tigers. If Balmain wishes to drop its name, I don't see the point of having two teams and certainly do not see the point of the involvement of Ryde-Eastwood. Hardly "leading the way as usual" as per your accusation.

Brett Hodgson was a West Magpie before he joined Parramatta Tommy did not want him so he went to Parra . Straight from the horses mouth

He went to parra at end of 1999 AFTER the merge. Wayne pierce didnt take him into the first wt side in 2000.

He was not offerred a contract by Wests before the merge or he would of been signed earlier by Magpies No one knew for certain what was going on either way until after he would of been contracted .Anyway Caine over Hodgson HA HA HA
