What is a Wests Tigers player?

Overcall each other
Decides when training gets too hard to tank and get the coached sacked
Leaves and Comes Back

We have 5 in first grade today and that’s the problem..that’s also why they have brought in Sheens and Kimmorley to build again from within.. that’s why they won’t spend overs for players now ..think they are prepared to cop the flak now and have listened to Sheens .. look at all the players he one way or the other developed during his tenure . we all know who they are . We ask played to have pride in the jersey but the reality is they don’t know what the jersey means and are just here for a salary. Look at today’s game. Who were the players that fought for the jersey?

Question stemming from Madge’s presser - discuss.

I don’t think Madge even knows ..
His presser started out strong then he just babbled for 3 mins 😂

These threads are getting more and more abstract by the day

It’s up there with your Nofo appreciation thread 😂

Laurie and Brooks, Doueihi was ok.

Few middle forwards weren’t terrible.

Same thing we've heard all year.

He says a lot without saying much.

I believe... as others mentioned in the 5 year plan thread, we are currently in the process of this. (Re building)

There are no plans of marquee signings, big name recruits, we aren't getting Hectic Cheese or anyone of that calibre.

Our focus is on pathways and youth. As my bro @gallagher pointed out, our cap is better than it has been in years... and only looking to improve once Packer leaves and hopefully Mbye can leave without impacting us too much.

There's a plan in mind, long view. Our KOE team is performing well and is full of young talent. Our lower grades are also looking good. Madge mentioned in the presser how good all the things at the club are moving in positive directions yet the first grade team does not reflect that. We are essentially getting our house in order, not to be a competitive team NOW but a successful team of the future.

Now, the rough stuff....
We have some really good young forwards with a lot of potential.
Stefano Utoikamanu, Shawn Blore, Luciano Leilua, Luke Garner, Thomas Mikaele, Alex Seyfarth + all the squaddies and lower grade lads.
Some one thought it was a good idea to recruit Tamou to mentor them....
Bad idea. He's not a good player and he isn't inspiring. These has been a failed experiment. Honestly would've been better going for some one like Tyson Frizell. This has been a massive letdown.

We extended Nofo who is one of the worst defensive wingers of all time because we were scared to lose him to Parra? Cmon now. We should've made a play to get a deal to move him on and get Stefano over quicker and throw in some one like Ray Stone or Haze Dunstar or Will Penisini.

We had an offer to trade Talau for Addo Carr and we did not take it.... I don't even know where to start with this one... fail of the highest regard.

Maybe a bit more context was required on the OP, my apologies. Madge mentioned that the Roosters have a type of character they look for in their players and WT are still trying to work out what that is. What do WTF posters think a WT player should represent and who is currently displaying that character?

Laurie
Douihei
Twal (Maybe not tonight)
Brooks (at times)
Stefano, Blore, Seyfarth.

The rest are frauds.

My belief is that the club needs to sell itself to young players (and their families) as the club that makes men. The club should lead the way in helping the players progress as people through a focus on personal growth and development.

🔥❤

Has the club used the same caption they use every week ..
“Tough day at the office, back to work and we’ll turn it around in a fortnight” .. 💪

They are certainly going to know how to deal with loss.

I think Penrith have changed what they are seen as in a short space of time

Yes WT was known as an attacking team with not so great defence.

Now we are known as the team that comes 9th.

I definitely like the focus on youth. A focus on local juniors.

And I think we should embrace being the entertainers.
Yes we need to defend. But we should be a confident, attacking and risk taking team.

The rules are now written for us.

At the moment:

- low on confidence
- negative mindset
- distracted

How we'd like to be known in future:

- tremendous work ethic
- strong mental fortitude
- cunning and smart
- intimidating

Get these bits right and the rest follow, physicality, skill etc etc

But the way we are at the moment, mentally, only holds us back

Hopefully we get to where we want to be sooner than later

In the 15 years I've been following I've seen 5 Wests Tigers first graders

Skando
Buckets
Hodgson
Farah
Tedesco

More of them, and less of what was running around out there today.
