What is acceptable?

Untrue, half of them are not injured.

We have been gradually getting a few back. Injury situation was worse a few weeks ago; no excuses now with our main playmakers all available.

gees i cant even exaggerate on hear i know how many injuries we have.Do you get my point though,

OK I'll play the game. I would like to think that we will make the semis regularly for the next 5 or 6 years. Winning the premiership takes a lot of luck at the back end of a season, you need things to go your way. I hope that we get our fair share of luck. Take a look at the semi against St George and you'll understand my comments (St George were very damn lucky to beat us).

Everyone keeps saying that we should make the semis or win the comp with the squad we have but step back and have a long hard look - right now we haven't put the same side on the paddock and we are at round 8\. I still think that we will make the 8 so long as the injury gods are kind to us at the back end of this season. Every team in the NRL strengthens their roster every year with all of them thinking they can make the semis - making the top 8 is not a forgone conclusion for us at all.

I hope that Wests Tigers continue to bring in a "marquee" player every year because I honestly think that we need to. People on here kept saying that we only bought Utai this year but Moltzen would be similar to a marquee player as he is coming back from injury. I don't agree and so far Moltzen hasn't got my pulse pumping. I also read a post somewhere talking about more "mongrel" needed in our team. I agree 100% and I think Sheensey does too that's why he is willing to pay top dollar for Adam Blair. To be fair I think that our purse strings did hamstring Sheens in his first 3 or 4 years but recently this has changed. Tim Sheens will give us another premiership if he can get the players he wants at the Tigers I think he knows what we need to top it off. I am backing him.

if we want to be recognised as one of the strong clubs of the nrl then we have to make the top 8 consistanly. so i would like us to make the top 8 every year until the end of 2014\. if we do that then we will probably win premiership number 2 sometime between 2011-2014.

making top 8 every year in the next 4 years with at least one grand final win anything less would be unacceptable with the talent that we have

Yeah with the squad we have, we should be in the semi's every year at the very least, I'd like at least 1 GF appearance in those years too.

So if we made the 8 once in the next four years and won the gf, would we call sheens a miracle coach or call him below average coach as bug and a few others mention regulary?

Well, that would mean he makes the semis 3 times out of his last 17 seasons with 2 GFs
The GF would paper over the unsuccesful seasons, as it has in the past.
You need to make the semis to get to a GF…..3/17 would be very very below average.
Whadda you reckon........................................ADAM!?!?

The good clubs are their or their about the top five most years, they will have the odd slide but every year you can be confident they are going to be part of the big games at the end of the season. As for us its more the opposite and usually we are feed excuse after excuse for our failures and promised good things for the next season.
Have anyone ever heard Sheens say it was my fault or I made a error–never--its always the players or someone else, okay you dont want to be like Elliott who puts his hand up every week and shields his players but you want a coach every now than to say I got it wrong Iam human.
All we can ask for and hope is some consistency with our form and that has not happened in the past so why will it happen now

Ink - you have high standards. I bet in life your high standards have served you well.

As for me I'm happy with winning another grand final or giving it at good shot. Worst case I'd like to see Moltz turn into our long term fullback.

Quit the Moltzen trolling or you'll find your posts either edited or deleted accordingly. This thread has nothing to do with him.

Why you gotta spoil the fun?!?!?

Its not fun, its childish drivel which people find tedious…people are here to discuss other topics not listen to you and your agenda ad-nauseam

Sheens is a creature of habit, players out of position, odd benches, persisting with no kicker….I doubt anything will change in relation to him taking some sort of responsibility.
As you say we dont want him Elliott like and being a mother hen, but the opposite stance he takes portrays a stubborn attitude that makes him look arrogant to a degree.....some responsibility taken publicly when things dont work would imo help the fans understand and emphathise with the entire staff & players when things go awry.
As it stands the fans have no idea why he persists with ideas that clearly are not working/could be working better and this in turn leads to frustration.
Those fans with little knowledge of the game, only see the final score or who scored the tries are quite happy to carry on their merry way regardless - theyre in the majority...this isnt intended as a blow my own trumpet type statement, just a fact you get reading posts on footy forums and listening to the mugs at games...someone will grab this though and run with it, bet your bottom dollar

With our roster, I think we should be lifting the silverware on the next four years and getting to the preliminary finals on at least three occasions. I don't believe that's asking much given we have the worlds best second rower and five eighth, junior talent to burn and other rep hopefuls in our ranks. Not to mention other internationals like Blair are entertaining joining the club.

Also agree with the long term viability of the side that Watto mentioned earlier. We've got key players locked up to long term deals and Sheens should be grooming his successor now really. Should be no excuses for the club to gp through a transitional period.

I don't think he should take the blame if it isn't warranted Perfect example was Titans game He said to players don't take any of Princes dummies . What happens 1 time we take Princes dummies titans score get on level terms and they win . I also think when he say WE he includes himself .The last thing I want to hear from the coach is that he admits his mistakes I want to assume that he went into game and the the players did not execute the game plan . And you can usually tell by the way they play whether they have or have not

Any other coach with our roster would be punted if he didn't make the eight - simple as that.
Just have a look at every unsuccessful club over the last how many years .
No results = bye bye coach.
Should be the same here .
No more excuses - he got what he wanted .
Now just get the job done or it's hasta la vista baby.

* No positional experiments in 1sts.
* Accountability for results
* Semis EVERY year for the remainder of his contract or he gets the boot IMO
* Reward for players performing the lower grades
* Under performing players in first to actually get sent back to reggies

Call me cynical, but I get the feeling the reason he has stayed at the Tigers is that he knows that he has huge sway over the board and has less chance of being punted if the results don't come.

Yes you are cynical… I have a feeling Tim stayed because some influential people got in his ear at yesterdays meeting and up'd the anti... If they didnt, he wouldve gone!

I still think if we miss the semis in any year with the squad we have, Sheens should be sacked. Not making the top 8 in a 16 team competition should no longer be acceptable to our Board.

I dont think our board really cares, they uped the bottom line and extended his contact based on some pretty average results over quite a few years.

People keep talking about our strong playing roster, is it really that strong??? If it was so good why are we struggling, of course injuries!! I wonder if the dragons will now loose more than they win because Boyds injured. Our playing roster has looked to be lacking passion and enthusiasm the last two weeks bar a few exceptions
