I know the history is there with Melbourne but believe the stars have aligned for him to be a career player at the Tigers.

If Stef goes, I'd give him that. Then with the stef money we can use it to get another decent forward on around 700-800K

Value really depends if we resign Stef IMHO.

No Stef, we should hang onto any Forward we have that is half worth their salt. Pole seems to be one of those....

Why?

No one wants to be a punching bag for a team coming last. No one.

With Stefano, Klemmer... there is a bit of a pack to fight with.

No Stefano and only Klemmer. Suddenly a 500k offer from the Tigers gets challenged with a 400k offer from a team with AFB or Haas or Tino/Fifita, etc. You want to do the bashing, not get bashed in weekly.


So with Stef, I would offer 450-500k. Maybe going a little higher to keep a good pack together. No Stef, I am going above 600k.

It is really sad that we have had one of our strongest packs and haven't capitalized on that. Stef, Pole, Paps, Klemmer, Bateman and Api K at 9... That's a top 6 pack. Heck we came last and stat wize our forward pack was 8th in the comp. Ofcourse our backs, our co-ordination and our defence have been poor 🙁


TLDR: resign Pole. No one better is taking his position.

Yes. If we want him to be our forward leader, you pay him as a forward leader. He was many levels above his team mates and the oppositon when he won the game for our U20s against a very good Dragons' team at Corrimal. His stepping off both feet and strong runs destroyed the Dragons. I get the same vibes from young Faagutu with his strong running, defensive technique and ability to promote the ball. At 13 of course!

Whether it seems like overs or not. This is one contact you can’t get wrong. It needs to be more than the player would expect to demand but less than what would classify him as our leading prop in the short term. He is still young, both sure how young 23/24? But is showing enough to be our future enforcer.
You don’t low ball him you pay him his worth and build around it.

Bullshit!!

He consistently runs as hard as Leniu - BUT plays far longer minutes with a much higher work rate in both attack and defence!!
