What players have you met, who's nice, who's not

I've met quite a few this year, most of them were good blokes, especially luke Lewis, Benji & fuifui

But yesterday, I couldn't believe what I saw.
As Paul gallen walked through the gate to penrith to go to the changing rooms, a young kid, maybe 6 or 7 years old, walks up to Paul with a massive grin on his face & asked him to sign his footy card, all Paul did was look at the kid, didn't say a word & kept on walking. I thought it was a bit harsh to completely ignore a young kid who probably idolizes him, all Paul had to do was stop for 5 seconds & make the kids day.

Ive met most of the tigers team, and they all seem to be nice enough guys. Lote, and Benji were all class, but they are media machines, and know how to talk to people.

Aaron Woods is just a big kid, and a really nice dude.

Moltzen seemed pretty chilled and a nice dude as well, but this was pre the St George thing I met him, i'm sure he's a bit more guarded now.

Matt Utai is very friendly with fans, and kids despite looking like he could murder you.

I saw Keefy Galloway get harrassed for an autograph by a couple of kids during the trial when he was on the excercise bike - and he was what I would call firm but fair. THey kept yelling KEEFY KEEFY KEEFY and really didn't get that he was in recovery mode (there kids were old enough to get it - they were about 11-14)

Keefy without missing a beat on the bike turned to them and said, "Sorry guys, not now, but what about after the game?" He was really good about it. The kids got the idea, and no doubt sought our their favourite tigers ranga after the game.

I think just like the rest of us, if you get them on the wrong side of the bed, or on the end of a massive beating, they probably can behave less than perfect.

Gallen is a big time player in a big game he's filled with emotion on the way into the change room before the game, il forgive him for not giving that kid time

Met lote and keefy a couple of weeks ago. My young bloke absolutely idolises lote but was really nervous about getting a photo with him. Lote really went out of his way to put him at ease and spent at least a minute chatting to my little fella, even though there was another 200 people waiting in line. An absolute top bloke. Keefy was great too. Also have met Matty utai and Matt groat and they were both really good to talk to, matt utai was really good with all the young kids too. I have met gus Gould and I gotta say he was an absolute pig of a bloke. Might have caught him on an off day.

Yeah I have heard a lot of good things about Gus. (i.e. usually has a lot of time for a chat, quite friendly).
I think like underdog said everyone has their bad days.

hahaha , ill let you in on a secret.
They are only rugby league players ,they are no different to the rest of us.
Gallen was focussed and had his earphones going ,give him a break ,there is a time when a player is in his zone ,especially just before a game .
Dont be shy , they all like people to interact with them, and remember they human just like we are .

Also met jarryd hayne, and despite his reputation he was a really nice bloke.

Fitzy had some of the team come down here last year for some reason and i have to say Bryce Gibbs was an absolute legend, really really good with the kids as was Geoff Daniella and Blake Ayshford. I found Tim Moltzen and Todd Payton a bit cold but not rude.

Todd Payten always looks uncomfortable in public and especially on TV

Hodgo & Buckets O'Neill the two most genuine WTs Ive met

Met Anthony Mundine one day at a BRET game, my son was much younger, he was great with the kids…nothing like his public persona

Daniel Wagon = dropkick

Its a tough one If he signs one where does he stop

He may have been in a hurry You can't judge on one situation

Nicest blokes I've met Gary Larsen , Jason Hetherington ,All the Walters brothers , Hodgo (If only he could of been family 😢 ) , Willie Carne .

Biggest pricks Brett Plowman , Big Al McInnes Brisbane Valleys and Qld prop Asked him for autograph back at Purtell Park in the late 70's as he was coming off and he literally told me to F off I was probably 8 at the time

It almost got interesting , Former Sydney Easts and Brisbane Wests centre Harry Cameron who would be about 5foot 0 told him to apologize or he would thump him Didn't get an apology and Harry almost ended up at 4 foot 9

His full of something. The real Paul Gallen returns what a grub. I have seen plenty of our players on the way to the change room sign autographs and looking happy about it.

I met Wes pattern in jail really nice bloke kept asking me if I wanted my back scrubbed in the shower. Just kidding.

Dymock is a tosser. The was 1 season in the late 90's when parra tigers and bulldogs all played at parra stadium I collected every footy card that year and got the whole folder signed except for Jim Dymock he always said NO!!!'

Sonny Bill Williams- Cool guy met him at footy training (day he left to france) he seemed relaxed he was with his manager

Willie Mason: The whole school was around him no space to talk or walk

benji, Farrah, and the coach at the time- i was 7 so dont remember much

Benji, Blake Ayshford, Hodgo, Benny Galea, Shane Elford, Matt Bell, Luke Lewis, Lachie Coote = All top guys.

MG drinks at my local and he's a pretty genuine bloke.

Craig Gower & Steve Carter would have to be the last two blokes on this planet I'd want my photo taken with.

Sonny Bill is a tool - he asked my cousin for her number at Norwest Shops - mind you she's 18\. She told me he was pretty nice up until he dropped the "do you know who I am line". She then said no, and he went on a 5 minute rant on who he is and what he's done. She then said well why don't you give me your number and I might call you hahaha

Have met a lot of different players - especially Raiders as I used to live in Canberra

Met Josh Dugan a few weeks ago at a social occasion (he wasnt drinking) but he is a great guy

Tigers I've met have always been good guys

Only bloke who I have met and catn stand is Mal Meninga - just a poor human being who was lucky to be a good footballer

One of the best to interact with was Robert Lui, I remember at fan days and membership days he would approach fans wanting to talk to them. And more than happy to sign autographs and pose for photos, I can assure that when he is sober he is one of the nicest you will ever meet.

Scott Prince was an asshole when it came to signing autographs and meeting kids. Only ever did it if he had to and you could always tell he didn't want to be there.

As someone else said Woods is one of the kindest blokes around. He is always happy to talk.

Lote and Benji are perfect. But by far the most approachable player is Gareth Ellis.

Had dealings with a drunk Brett Kimmorley, does that count? He was a good drunk actually .

Met most of the Parra players at the beginning of '04\. They were all fine, but Jason Taylor was a bit full of himself though.
