There was a moment in the Panthers/Roosters game where Maloney stopped dead after he ran behind a teammate and surrendered. Idk if it was intentional or not, but the Panthers players just stood there and didn't tackle him and they got the penalty. And got me thinking, every time a player runs behind a teammate and surrenders, the defence tackles them and its play on cos the ball player didn't take the advantage. What should happen is the defence should refuse to tackle the ball player, cos the ball player can't take the advantage, and if the defence refuse to tackle him, what other choice does the ref have? He's not gonna penalize the defence for not making the tackle.
