What screen do you watch your sport on?

I'm curious about the OS performance of the various smart TVs. We currently have a 55" and a 65" LG (several years old) but their system operation is glacial. We're probably due for an upgrade but I want to get something that is quick to use as well as nice to watch. My wife uses Apple TV a fair bit so use of the Apple TV app is essential.

FWIW, the vast majority of football gets watched on my 15" MBP or into a 32" Dell 4K monitor.

Generally most TV OS, split mainly between WebOS and Android, are pretty zippy these days. Haven’t seen those sort of complaints for a long time. Lots of processing power is needed for 4K so the OS requirements is small by comparison. Others may have comments on the performance of their specific screens.

For the Apple TV just make sure there is a HDMI 2.1/HDCP 2.2 input available.

Hopefully the performance is just a reflection of age.

We do have a couple of Apple TVs but I'm more interested in running the Apple TV app natively on the smart TV's OS and getting rid of the devices.

Many of the apps are available natively on the TVs, eg Netflix, Stan, Amazon Prime etc if that’s what you mean. You just need to check the specs to see if all the apps you want are available.

65" 4K Hisense I bought earlier this year. I also have a 120" projector screen but save that for movies.

Hisense are great screens. Good value for money.

I like them because they are very good value for money and come with a 3 year warranty which is great considering all the big supposedly quality brands don't want to know you after 12 months.

Understood, but I'm specifically talking about the Apple TV app which you can get for smart TVs - https://tv.apple.com/au/watch-now?itscg=10000&itsct=atv-tv_app-opn_app-apl

It essentially replicates AppleTV (without needing an Apple TV device).

I use my monitor - Samsung Odyssey G9 49" Ultrawide.

Half the screen has the game, the other half the forum.

I'd have discord too, but my Sky Sports stream seems to always be 15-30seconds behind everyone there.

Looking to upgrade my Samsung 55" TV, not sure I'd use it for game day still, but wanting something bigger for the lounge.
