What song are you listening to?

My daughter is watching Nick Mason tonight. Almost wish I had cancelled my India trip to see it.

I was in London the summer of '87, and I had a choice to see Pink Floyd at Wembley or Flaco Jimenez at this small pub in North London. I was at the time disappointed that the PF changed their direction from "Syd Barrett's - UmmaGumma" to Middle of the Road, and had just discovered Ry Cooder's mixture of bottleneck slide Mississippi style blues and "ethnic" music; the decision was easy. 😛
Anyhow, it was also a choice between a concert and additional food /drinks for a month, and music won of course 😉
Flaco was fantastic, drinking pint after pint, the crowd was great, everyone was dancing and singining as they knew the lyrics of all "Chicano" music they played, we were all Chicanos that night😍 Flaco picked up the mood and was really enjoig it!
That was one of the best concerts I ever saw😛
this is Flaco a few years later

I love early Floyd up until Dark Side but that is not say I don't like later stuff either. The album I rarely listen to is The Wall.
My recent go to albums on my ride in India are the live disc of Umma Gumma, Meddle, Obscured by Clouds and Zabrinskie Point.
I've also been playing the first two Soft Machine albums a lot on the ride.
The music just provides a great backdrop to the scenery.

I have all the recorded studio albums of Pink Floyd and enjoy them all and i have nearly all of their live performances but every now and again i find a rare "bootleg" live performance that i add to my collection so i guess i am still collecting them hehe.I can well understand the reasons why you went to the Flaco Jiminez performance as it would have been a great night.
