Mad Season - November Hotel - If you want to hear Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready in full flight, check this instrumental track out

One of the most underrated albums of all time.

This is probably the most tragic song I have ever heard.

Wake Up by Mad Season

Good album. Wake Up is a great description about heroin addiction.

Good album. Wake Up is a great description about heroin addiction.

Just a tragic song of someone trying to break their addiction, made all the more heart wrenching knowing that was a battle he ultimately lost. I know the 1st thing that came to my mind when I heard of Layne's passing was Wake Up and his pleading with himself in that song to break the habit.

Great version of it as well, Tom Morello takes it to another level.

Maybe the ultimate version, even without Boss, the bluesy guitar bit at the end is ?

I have 2 of their albums,Maria Franz has such an amazing voice.I doubt if they would ever tour here unfortunately.
Their music is tribal and pagan in style and deeply moving.Varus would still be looking for his 3 legions if he was still alive

Incidentally I was just reading about Charlemagne's massacres of pagans and the destruction of Irminsul. It is a great tragedy how much of Europe's culture was lost by the forced spread of Christianity - I guess comparable to later colonisation of the New World.
