What will Benji do tonight

What a nasty, pointless thread.
Good on you CB for hoping he plays well.

He dished up just about everything Irvine predicted. I don't see how the fact he was accurate in his prediction is pointless when he was on the money.

The thing that puzzles me is most people have only just recently noticed how crap he is and commented like its something new. He's been playing like this for most of his career who have they been watching all this time and how did he pull the wool over their eyes for so long. I guess it proves you see what you want to see, and that hope that people once had that he'd improve is all but gone now.

Players reach a high point in their career and then start to go downhill fast. Sadly Benji, Lawrence, Anasta and Ayshford have each reached that stage. For the good of Wests Tigers they need to step down from 1st grade immediately and allow more deserved players the chance to prove themselves in first grade. I say "step down from 1st grade" because I am 100% sure that Potter does not have the courage to issue these droppings. Potter is the huge stone blocking the progress of West Tigers.

and many thought that the worst trollop was dished out by BM96 and Milky. Way to prove them wrong!

Nah he's right. Potter is a horrible coach. Can't believe he couldn't get a poor side, chock-full of youngsters with less than 10 NRL games under their belt combined with a horrendous injury toll and the legacy of Sheens in the coaching staff to make the top 8\. And not to mention the Benji issues throughout the year.

No he hasn't.

I actually think Benji will play well tomorrow against the Gold Coast…in a game we can certainly win.
His closer to settling his future and that could be a big weight off his shoulders plus the sun will be out its a day game what more could you want...the Wests Tigers of old will return on Sunday.

I really don't care what Benji does tonight.
For the last couple of years we've heard how he has to pick up his game for what ever reason. Now he's leaving he's throwing our the same line because he wants to leave on a high note. He's hasn't stepped up before, can't see it happening now.
I've always been a Benji supporter but now I'm just really over it.
Don't care what he does, just hope the rest of the boys play well. If Benji plays good, that's a bonus. If he doesn't, he has to live with it.

Benji has been poor for almost two years now apart from the odd game where he has made an above average contribution.

Our entire season has revolved around "is benji staying" and all the shenanigans that go with it. I think it has been very disruptive to the club and although they say " no player is bigger than the game", benji has ensured that our season has been 2nd to his personal drama's. Most games he has been completely disinterested and I think thats a huge sign of disrespect to the club , its players and its supporters.

I'm not going to completely slag off a former great, but thats exactly what he is " a former great". Crucial missed tackles, poor passing, poor kicking, its just the same week in week out these days.

I donot believe any other club would have offered him the $750,000 to $1 million a year he was asking for , thats why he is leaving the NRL IMO.

I wish him all the best as a "past great" but I don't think he's living in the real world right now. Whatever he thinks was promised to him had to be based on performance and in a hard game like RL we know careers can come to an end very quickly. I also cannot see him playing in the World Cup for NZ later this year….how can you pick someone who is playing that low level of footy these days.

Benji....thanks for the memories...you were awesome once apon a time and good luck.

Disagree, he was okay last year. Nothing amazing, if he'd played like that this year i would have been okay with it. This year he has been beyond poor but not because he is disinterested. He seems to be trying really hard but it's not coming off for him, he seems to only play well in a winning side with tones of ability to create chances. Also, potter's method of coaching probably doesn't fit his style of playing so he's looking for a fresh start. Best for him and us.

I could agree with you that he was better last year than this year….but I can't blame Potters coaching style for his form. A player of his calibre should still be able to pass, kick and make tackles....I think he can be a bit of a sook at times and this is probably contributing to his poor play. Its a pity that he will be remembered for this year more than his past achievements if he does not pull his finger out.
