What would Potter be thinking now ??

It was a trial game with some blokes in their undies playing didgerydoos - nothing more.

Benji and Rob got through it and will be fine this year. Relax people.

I think the more important question is what will Daley be thinking now?

Daley looked as though he'd won Origin, the premiership and lotto all in one go

I think Potter might think Benji may be more creative if he plays more direct, I know hes succesful playing as he does laterally, but its a very low percentage rate breaks are made…good defenses read him well

Its a six months season. I would be worried if Farah and Benji fired all their best shots in this nothing game. I think a lot of you are showing unjustified anxiety because Benji did not score 3 tries but Barba did, This is a team game and the best team wins the premiership. Wests Tigers have a good competitive team make no mistake about it. Stop doubting.

No idea what Potter is thinking.

But I'm thinking this forum is worked up into a tizzy over Benji and needs to relax.

The problem is LaT that Benji can have half a dozen games like that a season

I understand he has a long season ahead with the World Cup but Benji is a confidence player and I would like to see a lot better performances to build his confidence up

Funny how the Thurstons ,Smith's ,Inglis ,Hodges are up for these games

Agree with this comment Happy, Thurston especially played a great game, we hardly even sighted Benji, hopefully he is saving himself for better things to come this season (for us)

Couldnt we just say that Barba is better than benji & robbie?

I would think that Potter wouldn't take too much stock in the game. Yes, Faffy and Marshall were surrounded by the best in the game, but they won't be playing with them all season.

I think he'll be focusing on Benji and Robbie shining in the WT colours this year.

And thats why Benji struggles against Top 4 sides , they have good defensive lines that don't panic when Benji touches the ball , they know if the keep a straight line in defense he is likely to go sideways

Benji's problem is he panics when he comes up against a straight line of defence and panics even more if they have good line speed Benji does need to play more direct Ink and take the line on with speed and use his footwork at the line

Please…. Its like Robbie and Benji didnt even try hard last night. Of course they did, They were just no where near the level the real players out there were.. Mason, Thurston, Inglis, Barba, Bird were excellent. Im only hoping things change come round 1.

Robbie did well, played his role in the team and looked to create opportunities. Very good in defence also.

Benji was Benji. He always has and always will play his style of footy. Tonight it didn't come off the way he would have liked but its the first hit out of the year and I dare say he'll be much better for us than he was last night.

i wish i go to work and perform half heartedly. Why cant they pick the young hungry players like Wighton on the wing for the indigenous?

I'll tell you something ,I'm getting sick of people defending Benji Marshall

Benji hasn't played any decent football for 18 months and I'm sick of people making excuses

He either has to stand up in 2013 or we should try and off load him while he has some semblance of a price tag attached to him

Benji PLEASE shove my words back down my throat , nothing would make me feel happier

It was patentley obvious from last nights game the NRL All Stars were not up for it compared to the Inds side, who had a lot of motivation to come out at a high tempo, None of the All Stars really stepped up apart from one or two in parts of the game. It meant nothing to some and hell of a lot to others. Also I reckon Bellyache holding Daleys hand helped the Inds. Still it was nice to see some footy. The new shoulder charge rule is definately contentious and needs to be rescinded and relooked at for a sensible solution!

If Benji and Robbie had killed it, we would have everyone in here telling the forum to calm down and not to get your hopes up, that it means nothing in the long run and we shouldn't read too much into it.

I'd say Potter needs to be thinking, "I'm glad I've got Miller and Anasta to handle the majority of the kicking game!"

That is, apart from the odd grubber which Robbie and Benji do quite well.

That, and how to get Benji to play best with the ball in hand. He has rarely had broken defensive lines in front of him for the past year and let's face it, that is when he is at his destructive best! So as others have said he needs to play more direct and more disciplined against a set line, which is what he is up against most of the time.

As for how they played last night, whatever. Moot point.

And Happy, I'm equally as sick and tired of people wanting to sack Benji. Most will never be able to comprehend what he has done for the team and club, and no doubt what he continues to do. In spite of Sheens wasting some of his best years he will still have plenty left in him, please move on people!

His day to move on will come, but it's not here yet.

In Benjis case….why would that surprise you?
He's been as inconsistent as hell for years....it would only be people saying what theyve seen for years.

As for Robbie - I dont agree.

Nobody is defending it, or denying it.

The issue is when people place too much stock in the first game of the year and work themselves into a tizzy by saying "nothings changed" or "Potter hasn't made any difference" etc.
