I reckon the ol' Maggies are doing allright ….... when I look on the scoreboard it always says Wests up there somewhere ....... thats good enough.

On the point about wearing the old jumpers ..... I think thats great .... I love seeing the old jumpers at the games.
The old Masterton, Victa, Phillips, Meriton ........ even saw an old IPEC last season !

x2 - I care about it as much as Group 21 in the Hunter Valley. Its just park footy to me (and 97% of League supporters) dont follow it, never have, dont care for it. dont think ive ever seen a game or a result nor have the desire for it. I follow the big game. The one that all rugby leagues fans care about and the one that gets media attention. NOT CRAPPY PARK FOOTY that unless your a western suburbs magpie supporter who follows it as they are bitter and twisted that the name WESTS doesnt get enough attention??? wow, so petty. by the way it is actually pretty weird to say WTFL1981, i remember when they announced the name in the early days it was banded around about what a stupid name Westssssssss Tigers was…...shouldnt it be The Western Tigers??? sounds so much better!!

How has the game against Parramatta got anything to do with the problems relating to the merger?
Once you start denigrating people on a personal level (eg. meeting of minds) instead of basing your argument solely on facts you start to lose people.
You expect the other half of the venture to support your cause how?
By gloating over past victories by Wests over Balmain - and even by Canterbury over Balmain in a 2010 NSW Cup GF.
And , no , all Balmain supporters aren't "fancy inner city types".
I disagree with a lot of things that have happened regards the Balmain and Wests juniors too - but you say people don't care about Wests and in the next breath prove you don't care (or seems more that you dislike) Balmain.
Sheens and Humphreys are not "Balmain".
If you expect support then it might help if you didn't alienate half of the people who might actually care about your problem.

So your complaint is the WT coach appeared in a video to support the Balmain leagues club development? Are you serious? You really are plumbing the depths here mate.

The video indicates and confirms that the tigers brand of balmain and the tigers brand of WT is virtually ONE in the same. It was the way sheens worded along the lines of 'our club' when WT doesn't even have a leagues club.

Supporting the cause is fine but not distinguishing the two tigers brands/clubs does not sit well with some in what is suppose to be a 50/50 JV!

What the Wests whingers fail to realise is that everything every decision made has been done in good faith to help the Wests Tigers.

The sooner people understand this and accept it and not live in a world of paranoia the better for the Wests Tigers.

The Wests Tigers are not about the Wests Magpies or Balmain but the Wests Tigers.

I don't recognize the state cup as it fails to achieve what it is meant to achieve.
Or if I can use your words it doesn't serve the purpose it is meant to serve.
The gap is too great between State Cup and first grade which is why not many players make the transition.
It's left to the NYC to do what it's not meant to do and provide players to first grade who are just not ready.
I mean when I see clubs like Windsor and Wentworthville in it, it tells me it is not a strong competition … Certainly not strong enough to be a stepping stone to NRL. And this is the competition my old club chooses to play in. No I can't recognize it as a viable competition Ink ... It's not the old Magpies that I used to follow ...

Take a look at the fox coverage (watch the replay during the week)

Look for the name WESTS TIGERS on any fox screen titles, screen grabs, teams lists etc

And count the number of times 'Wests tigers' is mentioned during the WHOLE game by the commentary team.. I counted twice in the match. Its about keeping the 'wests' identity Relevant in WT which is suppose to be a fair and equal jv - not just tigers of the old

Intentional or not, If the small but significant word 'wests or wests tigers' is omitted more and more from the commentary, media articles and general league talk then so does its purpose and identity in the JV..

Yes, call us whingers for raising the issue but its not a big ask.

Turn the sound off.

The reason I say that is because 95% of them wouldn't have a clue what they are talking about.

Funny yes! but thats dismissing the subject matter! Hard to ignore commentary on the radio or what you read in the paper and online. Same goes for WT merchandise.. Most notably no mention of wests at all in the logo branded across the gear.

Its not just WT fans listening/watching/reading its all league fans and this is how WT is promoted/presented to those who see the WT brand in its inconsistent formats.

You need to gamble more. Wests Tigers are referred to as "Wests" on most online gambling agencies.

The tag on Twitter said #NRLGldwst. Twitter hashtags favour Wests and yet no one harps on about that? :unamused:

Also, it's Wests Tigers responsibility to ensure both identites are represented, not the broadcasters. If you have an issue with the broadcast on Saturday night, bring it up with FoxSports, not wax lyrical to all and sundry here. Whinging about it here gets nothing done.

I heard at least one time on Saturday's game, the commentator called the team "Wests". Sure, "Tigers" is probably mentioned a lot more, but not always. As long as they don't call them "Balmain" or "Magpies", I'm happy. There was a game earlier this year, I think it was where we were wearing the black and white heritage strip, and the commentator said something along the lines of "I might call them the Magpies", and I was thinking "why not just call them Wests and be correct?".

Lets all respect what the JV is - a representation of the 2 foundation clubs at NRL level.

I haven't seen them run around since 1999 …. That's not the old Magpies I used to follow in State Cup.
