What's on your work bench right now?

That brings back a memory from soon after I first arrived in the NT, a friend of mine said; remember to turn all your lights off after dark to keep them midgies out. They're built square so they can fit through the screens.
I moved to the mid nth coast and of course I started fishing and went to this spot on dusk in shorts and singlet I was told to go and pump yabbies for bait. I’m there pumping And I can’t see clearly so I clean my sunnies and put them back on and still blurry. As I take them off real slow I can see the midgees are so thick I could cut a path through them with my arm. Obviously it looked like I had measles for the next 3 weeks.
Every house I move into I change to midgee screen.

The only sand flies that cause me grief are the ones with a red spot / mark on them
And we only seem to get them in one area of Gladstone ....Calliope River / Curtis Island

Annoying little pricks hey.
Squared up too. Now that’s an Ozy midgee for ya

i can’t see that well mate. Is there a red spot on some of them?
Or are we talking about spiders?
I hate spiders, creepy little buggers, that ain’t scared of anything.

Can't even find my workbench, slight exaggeration. The garage is so full of crap I can't get on to tip as wife and daughter have been turning blind eye to helping me sort what's to go and what's to stay. No doubt if I took unilateral action id be in bad books. 🤪

I deliberately keep my garage as messy as possible (I know where things are) because as soon as I sort it, the finance officer comes in and decides to rearrange everything and then I can never find what Im looking for.

Sounds like our kitchen.
Just as I get used to where things are.... boom, a complete rearrangement...

Must admit also, my wife marvels at how I have such a good idea where things still are despite mess.

I hear ya, if I leave a clear bench, it’s like a red rag to a bull for my minister for finance and fashion, she seems to think I need something to do.

Currently got two projects on the go.

The orange one: 1972 Suzuki T500 – full restoration.

The brown one: Suzuki Bandit 1200 – planned conversion into a drag bike.

Although that plan has hit a bit of resistance lately! My daughter has recently discovered the joys of wind in her hair and is pushing hard for the Bandit to stay registered and on the road. Apparently, stripping a perfectly good motorcycle down to turn it into a drag bike should be a criminal offence!

Meanwhile, the Minister for Finance has reminded me that I’ve only got one arse, so apparently I only need one bike!

So here I am with two projects, two very different opinions and a feeling that I’m going to lose at least one of these arguments!
