Completely agree, I think Ava has been very impressive.

As for Pettybourne - Souths did not want him. They are now first. Once again we have bought rejects who were not wanted by other clubs. Same as Thompson. Never a regular at the Titans, who are a bottom tier club.

It all comes back to woeful recruitment.

I am surprised that the recruitment (and retention as well?) people still have a job with their record. The only successful NRL-standard player signed, since the 2005 premiership that I can recall is Ellis. I doubt that the recruitment/retention people were involved with this signing.

we nearly had that side at newcastle and got thumped,our backrow and interchange and some of our backs are the worst in the league we are crap simple as that.

Constant team changes,nil continuity,new structures,new coach,players either injured or playing with injuries, all these factors contribute big time to poor on field performances.

We keep focusing on individuals and yes some are playing well below their best but it can be a catch 22 thing,as you need the team to be going well in order for individuals to be going well and visa versa.. Its going to take a massive amount of hard work and everyone pulling in the same direction to turn things around

don't see how thompson rates a mention at all… defensive issues. Fulton to start and Bell is a much more consistent performer so him to the bench.
