Where are they now?.. And what are they doin??

Definately puts to rest the option of kicking 2 field goals to square up!!
Johnny Simon was always of reasonable quality…
Reasonably done by the time we got him though...

John Simon was 50 when he Joined us but wasn't he??

Possibly. He wasn't too bad in what was a fairly poor side. Loved kicking field goals when we were 2 points up close to full time. Nobody really knew why…

C'mon Yoss you must see the benefit of a three point lead …..

Worked out great when Nathan Blacklock scored after the siren after a failed 45m field goal by Simon when we are 2 points clear. I was just glad I only had a cushion near by to throw at the TV after that game.

Yes remember that game Yoss almost as bad as the Penrith one where we kicked a field goal and lead 31-6 or thereabouts and got run down and lost by 1

I had the dubious honour of attending that match. 31-8 with 18 minutes to go, and we got run down. After the side decided not to show up at the SCG last year against Souths, I think that would go down as the most disappointing loss I've witnessed.

I also remember being at a game at Leichhardt when Penrith scored after the siren to win a very low-standard game of league. As I recall half our team was in the middle of the ground as the siren went trying to stop a field goal so the Panthers spread the ball and scored. It was the kind of game when neither side deserved any points.

I don't know if this tops it but I was as close as I've come to ever dumping a football side . I was in Townsville that Saturday night of a certain Mr Hopoate incident . When we left ground , got breakky next morning, bought paper, got fuel for trip home Copped it the whole time . Top it all off I was in a Cowboys sponsors box with a Tigers Jersey on They did not appeciate it at all . Never got invited back either

Dark, dark days

We've had a few tubby players over the years. John Simon always looked a bit rolly. And there was a guy who played with Balmain. Paul someone? And of course Olsen Fillipano, the professional Reggie…

I think you mean Paul Davis he played five eight in the 90's when we where coached by Alan Jones and hails from Kempsey

Daine Laurie isn't at Erina. He's playing for Macquarie Scorpions in the Newcastle comp according to the articles I've seen.

I heard he was heading there also… But in RLW (There was a big article) I read that he had signed with Erina??
I may have it backwards.... I'll get onto it!!
Cheers for the heads up!!

Villasanti was a bum. He was the thief on the Kangaroos tour bus. He denied it but players close to the tour revealed him and he was outed. His form and career died soon thereafter then and he got a bad knee injury and was forced into retirement.

A mate Back in Canberra said he was at a party where Villasanti punched out a 70kg teenager for no reason Top bloke by the sounds of it. Back to being a bum i guess.

Yeah Mate, I had is Backwards… He is at the Scorpions.
Rambo... (I Love your movies...) Cherry doesn't work for the woosters no more,
And Kevvy Mc pulled the pin on the Kangaroos.
